2021 New York Yankees

Aaron Hicks is batting 3rd, folks. The guy is like a .240 hitter, also one of the worst hitters on the team with RISP.

How is he batting 3rd?

It's things like this that make me question the Yankees decision makers. And OBTW, Tauchman is a better player than Hicks.

The only excuse to have him there is that he walks or whatever. He certainly shouldn’t be hitting third. I’d rather see Urshella in that spot.

It’s not really why we are losing but yes that is strange.  Hicks should be in the bottom 3rd of the lineup with Gleyber batting 3rd

Torres is a BIG problem on defense. We can’t play 162 like this, Cashman and Boone gotta figure out what to do.

The problem with paying Lemaheiu that huge contract was Gleyber is actually way better at 2nd.

And now you can’t just move LeMaheiu to 3rd and shift Gleyber to 2nd because we have two good 3rd Basemen Urshela and Andujar

Agree, Gleyber is a good 2nd baseman, but not a real SS.   Which is ironic because I think in the minors he was a SS prospect coming up.

I keep forgetting about Andujar.   He hit so well as a rookie, had the injury, then they got Gio.  Do you move Andujar while he is still young and hopefully has some value?

I would be more than willing to trade Andujar. Liability in the field and there's no room on the roster for him anyway.

Don't get me wrong, DJ's contract is a lot of money but I wouldn't call it huge by today's standards and it had to be done. Imo that contract is a steal.

That’s part of why I want to trade Judge now we are so overloaded that Andujar, a legit 20+ Hr 80+ rbi guy can’t even get on the roster

Ok it’s not huge but it is a big contract.  Very good player and good clubhouse guy but Gleyber’s real position is 2nd he’s Robby Alomar
