Never said that, I just dont thin Burrow proved anything last year. He threw the ball a lot because they sucked and couldnt run the ball but I didnt see anything out of Burrow that made me think he was good to go.  Still lot of questions there...the analytics, actually didnt like his season at all but the jury is still out.

Herbert threw for 300 in consecutive games, twice last season.  In fact, he did it in his first 2 ever starts.  Watch the 2 side by side, Herbet was 1000x better.

Not sure what I'm saying about Burrow that is opinion.  Is anyone read to plant a flag in him as a hit?  I'm not, the rest of what I've said about him is, well, fact.

13 tds, 5 ints, 65% completion rate.  way better than darnold.

All true, Burrow averaged 40 attempts per game with only a 6.5 yard per attempt.  I agree, the book on Burrow is far from being written in stone yet.

You all gonna sick watching the highlights of Sam and Robby’s reunion and watching the Panthers in the playoffs while the Jets have another losing season.  I’m on record for saying they should have kept him. If I’m wrong I’d eat crow and a side order of rat.

I think the concern is that a 1 year wonder has literally never succeed in the NFL and the Jets are about to draft one at #2 overall.  And then specifically in the Jest situation, you're about to strap a 1 year wonder with an injury history who is total fools gold with a rookie HC, rookie OC who never called a play on a Football field in his life and he happens to be joining the worst team in Football.

Burrow, K Murray, R Wilson, Ben, Phillip Rivers, Cam Newton.........

Boom! Solid return. Way to go JD!

I'll be rooting for Sammy but this had to happen.

Please explain how that’s a solid return based off the Jets’ draft history? Besides, Joe Douglas only had one draft so we still don’t even know if he can draft well.

Please explain how the Jets draft history under different regimes has any relevance to our future draft performance.

I think Joe Burrow, who dominated the SEC, knee blew up into a thousand little pieces when he was hit by an NFL player.  Watson knee blew up when he wasn't touched in practice after dominating College football.

Wilson has arm talent, reasonable size and strength, a tremendous work ethic and he seems like he's got a little bit of an edge to him.

FYI the only SB the Jets won was guaranteed by a QB who was broken into a thousand little pieces in College.

We've drafted plenty of stout, injury free QB's who have sucked at the NFL level.  The last decent QB we drafted who didn't suck at the NFL level was Chad who was fragile as an egg and had a rag arm.

Wilson has the arm, the release, foot speed, work ethic and his a prick.  Everything you want in an elite NFL QB.  If he gets hurt he gets hurt.  Very few elite NFL players walk away from the game and live a healthy normal life.  Injuries are part of the game.  This obsession with injury potential is insane.  The brain is protected by a skull.  There isn't an NFL QB on any roster who's brain isn't at high risk to concussion and incremental permeant injury.

All fine points, but it’s not the injury risk I’m all that worried about with Wilson, it’s the idea that he’s going to have to learn how to play QB while under dire physical duress on every play—something he hasn’t had to do at BYU. He’s going from getting sacked 11 times in 12 games to a situation where he’s going to get sacked 11 times every two weeks. Pretty big learning curve on that kind of thing, you’d think.

If the Jets are running Shanahan's system, they'll do a lot to protect him. Hopefully they draft some guards, too.

But that's a factor that gets overlooked. He's the best fit at QB for their system.

Because Joe Douglas has one year plus of draft history. The Macc/Idzik/Tanney...Etc, etc years are irrelevant to JD. In simple terms of value, this trade hits it out of the park. It’s now Douglas’ job to draft well. If that doesn’t meet your expectations, well...sorry.

Wilson, Ben and Rivers were not 1 year wonders,

Rivers had a decent Jr year and blew up in his Sr if I remember

Ben blew it up his Sr year

But regardless you get the point.

Based on the fact that the kid has graded out as the worst starting QB in the league during his stint here.

I was a huge Darnold fan for more than a year before we even drafted him. But no one is giving you a kings ransom for a player who has largely been a major disappointment, regardless of him being thrown into a pretty sh*tty situation from the get-go.

Hell, Darnold’s age and the belief of many that he has some untapped potential is the only reason we were able to get this much for him.

Over the Panthers?

I have more faith in all of those teams over the Panthers as of today

Who are all the college QB that "play QB while under dire physical duress on every play—" in college? Fields?  Lawrence?  Jones?

I've studied his game intently, he's a complete break down, restart, rebuild from scratch.  He's a total mess with his feet and his mechanics are terrible.  His decision making sucks.  His long ball sucks.  He fades in clean pockets, he leaves clean pockets, throws across his body, throws into double coverage and he doesnt see the middle of the field - he is literally Sam Darnold all over again except his arm has more pop but oh well, hopefully these dudes who have never developed a QB can fix all that all that and make an NFL QB out of him.

I am now clinging to the idea they haven’t signed their backup QB yet because when they bring in someone whose game meshes more with Fields it removes the odds that they can get SF to give them something to flip picks and get Wilson. Very much a long shot.

Yes. I’m going to say that quarterbacks who played in those conferences faced better pass rushers on every down than Zach Wilson has ever seen in his life.

Wait is your argument "Joe Burrow is not good because he ended the season on IR"?

Burrow was on pace to have one of if not the best passing season by a rookie in the modern NFL. He was the first rookie to throw for 300 yards in three consecutive games...ever. He completed more passes through his first 7 games than any other rookie. ever.

Understand your narrative around 1 year wonders being scary - and i'm with you I actually am not sold on Kyler at all, but the Burrow "facts" are more so "jaded opinion"

They both had strong years and are going to be top 15 qbs in the league for a long time, and burrow did it behind an offensive line ranked worse the Jets. Look for them to load up on OL in draft, starting with their 1st pick.
