I just want to be able to view the songs on my comp that we purchased using my account on his comp. I am confuesed!!!!!

It does but on his it shows the songs we purchased in the library but on mine it does not show the songs. Although it says it is the same account.

The itunes library will be different for every user because you may all own ipods with varying musical interests. The library just references songs from a central location (folder).

Usually when you connect the ipod, it will make an exact copy of what is in the library.. every single song, not just the new ones that you add.

If your son wants some songs that are currently in YOUR library, you have to move/copy each one from where the originals reside.

Does that make any sense??

I thought about that. I do not know how to do that. I was trying to get this done for him but my comp knowledge is not extensive.

Go to the control panel from the start menu. When it opens, look for an icon called User accounts. It will ask you which account you'd like to change, choose your son's icon and change it to administrator. Make sure you are logged in under your username when doing this.

Done.

I am going to try and install the itunes cd now and get the music.

Thanks

For the future, if you would like songs from his library...it's simple:

While in itunes, Go to 'File'>'Add File To Library'

Then search your computer for the folder that has the songs (I wouldn't know since it is not my computer!)

Thank you verde!!! I might try that now cause I did chnage him to admin but the comp still is giving me an error saying he has to be an admin to install the itunes cd. UGH!!!!!! I even double checked that he shows up as admin.

THANK YOU Boozer and Verde for all your help. I was able to get the songs into my library but now it says his ipod is linked to another library, which I assume is his dad's account. I will figure out how to get it unlinked and then put the songs on it.

This ipod stuff is a pain in the A#@.

Thank you again!!!!!:D
