you used his uncle's wealth (not his or his father/mothers) against him. the kid drove door dash to make extra money while training for his NFL career away from home. it's a lame ass argument.

I'm not questioning his work ethic. Apples and oranges, dude.

Lol there is nothing negative in that clip. He specifically mentions the QB coach of the Jets in a positive light, compliments Zach's work ethic and says he will be fine. It also again like close to 100% confirms Zach to the Jets.

Also, it is a reasonable question. We screwed Darnold over pretty bad.

There's people here who have been condition by the NYPost to dissect every word negatively

Im not saying he can't handle adversity. I'm saying he hasn't shown us he can. It's not a criticism. His life as an NFL QB will be a lot different than it was at BYU. Especially last year. It was like throwing a football around with your friends most of the time.

Watch the Tenn and USC games. He is basically the same guy as 2020 pre hand injury. Kirwan says these tapes sold him on Wilson and Lombardi said the USC tape is the reason he became the #2 (or even #1) prospect on people's boards

watched that USC tape the other day. Very happy we won't be in QB market a year from now with Slovis likely being a 1st rounder. Another USC turnover machine.

What makes might critique of your analysis a boycrush? Is this the strawman you're going to fall back on because I disagree with your definition of "adversity"?

It's the NFL. Not BYU, playing a powder puff schedule. I'm not saying he's going to bust. I'm not saying we shouldn't draft him. Nobody knew who he was 6 months ago. Now if you rIse a minor point about the jump from BYU to the NFL some people get upset.

Why the incessant worrying that his uncle will somehow bail him out, better yet he knows this so wont try to succeed in the NFL.

Because thats what uncles do.

But you didn't mention BYU. You said his upbringing and people in his family or some sh*t helping him up.

I agree about that. It was a meaningless reference. I think i'm reading into some things, that i probably shouldn't be. He had a great pro day. To me, though, he looked nervous all tbe way through. That's to me.

Do you remember the Monday night game when Haloti Ngata almost killed Sanchez. That game was the beginning of the end for him as an NFL starter. Was a shell shocked QB from that game forward. That's the adversity im talking about. Not to mention his physique. Look at him with no pads.

The idea that Sanchez wasn’t the same after that hit was lost on me.  Sanchez never was anything but shell shocked most of the time.

We're going to worry that a hard hit that could shell shock a Sanchez would do the same to Zach?  And not any of the other QBs in the draft?  Why?

Im sorry im raising a concern that's been raised by a lot more people than me. For the sake of the Jet's and the fan base, i hope your boy crush with Zach is justified.

Darnold truther having concerns about other QBs

Does this mean Zach doesn't think he is landing in a great spot and is therefore asking Young how to overcome that?

Well, he's getting drafted by the second worst team in the NFL from 2020, a team that just fired its whole coaching staff and is still in  the business of renting players on a 1-year basis.  If anything, he's showing some intelligence.

"A good friend of mine IS coaching QBs at the Jets..."

What's the current situation he's referring to?!

Rob Calabrese coaching James Morgan?

I think he's probably referring to the passing game specialist, Greg Knapp, who was QB coach and then OC while Young was with the 49ers.

I'm not even especially a fan of Wilson I'm rolling my eyes at the title of this thread without even reading the op.

I don't suppose he could be asking, "what is the best way to be successful on any team?"

Thats exactly what he was asking.

Then you look at who the OP is and you roll out your avatar.  It so fits his post

I want to see this guy overcome adversity. I'm a little concerned about his upbringing. He knew somebody would be there for him if he ever needed to be bailed out. He's taking a huge step up. Nobody will be on the field to hold his hand. It's up to him. Will he step up. Or will he fold.

Maybe this two parent stable home with successful parents thing should be ditched for the betterment of society.  Apparently we should be raising our kids in broken homes with wash outs for a parent so our kids can cut it at the next level.  (for those of you from 2 parent homes where one or both of your parents worked their butt off and became successful and set that example for you consider this sarcasm.)
