Dog question for the forum.

Recommended Posts

My daughter has a 2 Great Danes both since puppies both from the same litter.

One is suffering seizures every so often.

They have been back and forth to the vet.

I only know what she tells me.

Anyone have any clue what could be causing them.

These dogs are gentle giants and the best pets you could ask for.

Thanks

I had a dog who had seizures.

It was not a big deal.  She would seize everey now and then, we would just sit with her until it passed.  In our case, it was not a major medical problem, just something that she lived with.

Vet’s advice is important.

Family got a labradoodle when I was in high school. He started having seizures around 8 or 9. I was home for the first two. Upsetting to be around for. Spent some time with the vet, turned out he had a brain tumor. Responded well to treatment, lived several more years.

In no way does that mean what thats what the Great Dane has - just my experience with the sudden onset seizures.

Try using CBD for the dog. You can buy it in many forms but tinctures would be the most cost effective, especially for a large dog like a great dane.

It's already approved for use in humans for seizures and I've heard wonderful stories about people using it on their dogs since I'm in the industry.

Just look up epidiolex.

Guy up the street is on his 3rd Great Dane(all great well-behaved if huge dogs) during my goldendoodle's11 years. He bascially has said their size is their weakness, their hearts have to pump too much the longer they live.
