**** trading down. The Jets just nabbed 3 guys that are going to start on day one in the first 34 picks.

This is the draft most Jets fans have been wanting for 20 years. Dude is a weapon.  I wasn't sure we'd go WR this high.  JD continues to not be as predictable as some thought.

I can't speak for everyone, but in my case it's a reaction to the people on this board who get a massive erection every time getting rid of crowder has been mentioned for the last several months and not about the Jets themselves are actually doing (aka they're not cutting crowder tonight like people are calling for..).

To be totally honest, While i don't like the pick, I'll be at peace with it soon enough being that it was a playmaker on O... the problem is Joe Passed on calls to trade back. That's a tough to swallow. 

We trade up for an OG in a draft loaded with OGs, and dismissed an offer to trade back, so we could take a inside receiver, in a draft loaded with inside recievers... it casts a bit of a shadow for me over Joe.

Yeah I hear you and it’s all valid, I just feel like EM is way more than just an inside receiver, he’s dynamic and exciting and should be super productive....great character too by all accounts.

I liked RM too but you have to factor in his injury history, we could really do with a good returner so I’d give him that edge but overall I’m thrilled with this pick....a lot of people had him as the 4th nest WR available, only marginally a step down from the big 3 of Chase, Waddle & Smith.

I’m also just glad we didn’t reach for yet another OL....enough of them already, maybe a developmental RT or OG in the 5th or 6th but we’ve addressed the line, far too many other positions to fill of which adding an exciting and electrifying receiver was one until we got Elijah......as much as I like Crowder, and as much as he deserves his 11M, he’s not dynamite like Elijah Moore has the potential to be.....he’s solid, nothing more....he just stood out on our roster because he was literally the only guy who belonged in the league playing WR for us.

I got the trade up for AVT when he was clearly worthy of the move, in a draft heavy with OG’s or WR’s, dropping back and getting the same guy (roughly) a few picks later makes sense but when you have a chance to take an elite talent at the position you absolutely take your guy, the drop off after both AVT and EM was significant and merited staying put (or even trading up)

just for context here’s what Bob McGinn’s scouts had to say on Elijah, ranking him as the 4th best WR:

4. Elijah Moore, Ole Miss (5-foot-9½, 178, 4.35, Round 1 or 2): Third-year junior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., posted the fastest 3-cone (6.67) of the leading WRs.

“He’s my favorite player not named Ja’Marr Chase,” one scout said. “My way-too-crazy comparison for him was Antonio Brown. That’s honestly who I think he can be like. I would consider taking him at the end of the first (round). With the size, some people think he can only be a slot receiver. I think he can play inside and outside. He plays really fast. He’s strong.”

His 17 reps on the bench press almost doubled Kadarius Toney’s total (nine). The top three wideouts didn’t lift.

“The (Alabama) guys got all the attention, but this guy isn’t far behind,” said another scout. “He’s a good little player. Fun to watch.”

Started 24 of 32 games over three seasons, catching 189 passes for 2,441 yards (12.9 average) and 16 touchdowns.

“You can find homes for these guys,” said a third scout. “No, I don’t think he’s too small. I just don’t know if he’s special. When I see a small guy, I’ve got to go back to Roscoe Parrish, who athletically was just so dynamic.”

Said a fourth scout: “He’s not explosive (speed-wise), but he has such pace on his routes and stop-start quickness that he gets everybody off balance. Ball skills are natural, fluid. He’s slick with his run after catch. Love him as a player.”

jamison crowder was not getting you a 3rd round pick.

why would a GM give up a 3rd for a good, not great, player on the last year of his contract.

Right? It’s almost as if having as many good WRs on the roster is a good thing in today’s  NFL Flag football league we’re everyone spreads sh*t out using a lot of 4 wr sets. I can’t even imagine.

Last year's draft was more memorable than this. The NFL has stuffed it up. So drawn out and ads every five minutes is really annoying.
