Other way around. This guy from Duke is going to be the slot corner. He's 5'9" and runs a 4.35

Quick, fast and aggressive, Carter was a playmaker on the back end for the team for the better part of his Blue Devils career. Having played all over the secondary for the team, Carter can assume a variety of roles on the next level, but looks to fit best inside at nickel. He is a quick-twitch athlete who is able to change directions well, redirecting and making plays on the ball in the air/at the catch point. Carter is a fearless run defender, showing no problem mixing it up with the best.

Pick Grade: Below Average

Carter wasn’t listed on the PFF Big Board or The Athletic’s Consensus Big Board, signaling that he was a reach here at No. 154 overall. He does have four seasons of solid grading at Duke with experience both in the slot and out wide, though. Carter earned PFF grades of at least 72.0 on at least 400 defensive snaps in each of the past three seasons.

Do we care this late in the draft in this year where scouts had so much less data?

At same time, if Darrelle is his uncle weird he flew below radar either way.

Why are people saying we took 2 safties when we took a LB and a corner?  lol

Because the TV says S next to their name. This part of the draft is pretty annoying with how fans react.

Will/Big Nickel and a Nickel CB.

It's a passing league, gotta have speed to stop it.

The pass rush should be very good this year with Q and Rankins collapsing the pocket and Lawson and (hopefully) Zuniga crashing the edges!

Bless and Hall are tailor made for this zone defense and they might still add Sherman for some veteran help.

This defense is a lot better than we might've first thought.  Especially if Cashman can stay healthy.  He's fast as lighting and can play the Will.

CB

He's certainly fast enough.  Probably a slot guy for us.

The video that NFL Network showed was actually pretty good.  Closes on the ball wall and some nice PBUs in that clip.

Aww man. Apparently NOT related to Darrelle.

Explains why he was below radar.

because they read it on a draft website, know absolutely nothing about the players, didn't scout them, and don't know what the jets plan is for them.

but since there is an aversion to safeties, they freak out.

would be funny if AVT gets listed as a safety... ?
