The Official Draft Day 3 Thread

Recommended Posts

This is the area of the draft that is a lottery so trading back and getting extra picks makes sense.  The first 3 rounds of the draft shouldn't be a lottery it should be about scouting and picking the best player on your board.

Don't know much about this Michael Carter guy.

No, not that Michael Carter.  This second Michael Carter.

Pretty small for a Safety, but very fast.  Can he play Corner?

Ourlads lists him as a Corner.   Given his size, he projects to the slot.

We didn't get an extra pick. We just moved around.

If we were actually getting any extra picks with this last trade it would make sense.  But losing 16 spots in one round to gain 19 in the next is terrible value.

Seems to me that our defensive picks are awfully “cute” (S at LB, S at CB). Do you think this is reflective of a having defensive HC? Conventional wisdom on offensive picks and out-of-the-box on defensive picks. At least this “creativity” is exercised in the later rounds (i.e. no Louisville Sluggers).

Yeah that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
