Grand slam draft.

Here’s my latest speculation on the offseason (partly what I think will happen and partly what I want to happen):

Free Agency:

Sign/Trade for a #1 WR: trade pick 107 for Amari Cooper WR (low end #1)

Sign a Guard: one of James Daniels iOL, Connor Williams iOL, Austin Corbett iOL

Sign a TE: David Njoku TE

Sign a veteran LB: KJ Wright SLB

Resign:  Berrios WR, Foley iDL, Joyner S, Feeney iOL, McDermott OL, Flacco QB

Extend: Fant LT, McGovern OC

Cut: Griffin TE, Rankins iDL, Van Rotten iOL

Draft:

1.4. Kayvon Thibodeaux Edge (I think he falls) - If not available George Karlaftis Edge (I think he will have a big combine)

1.10. Ahmad Gardner Outside CB (Having addressed OL and WR in FA and Edge at #4 gives us the luxury to start addressing the back 7). I would also consider Devin Lloyd LB here followed with Trent McDuffie CB or Kaiir Elam CB at #35 if Gardner is not available.

2.35. Christian Harris WLB (What? 3 straight defensive players. But remember, I have us addressing the offense in FA/trade)

2.38 David Bell xWR: xWR who will backup Corey Davis and hopefully take over in a year or two)

3.69. Jeremy Ruckert TE, Ohio State #2 TE behind Njoku

4.107. traded for Amari Cooper WR

4.113. Kellen Diesch OT, Arizona State - developmental tackle who will be the #4 tackle on the depth chart

5.144. Tyler Allgeier RB, BYU - will form a solid 1/2 punch with MC1

5.161. Lecitus Smith iOL, Virginia Tech - developmental guard who will be the #4 guard on the depth chart. Got to start getting that pipeline going.

I think the only things really missing are a rangy MLB, a ball hawking safety and maybe another safety.

Berrios is rumored to be looking for $9 mil.... sorry man just can't. that's almost Corey Davis money and with a WR core of

Adams, Moore, Davis, Berrios thats gonna be $50 to $60 mil in cap and while I like Berios at around $4-5 mil I don't know I could stomach $9mil

still will need 2 more guys, will have to be cheap guys.

$50-60 is probably a bit too much to allocate to WRs. 😂 But we should definitely be a team that is close to the top in the WR spend category while Zach is on his rookie contract. It’s all team specific. I see DB, RB and LB as areas where we will tend to be towards the bottom.

For us, the cap should be weighed towards WR, DL and OL. Hopefully Zach becomes a FQB. At that point, we better have some cheaper WRs we’ve developed.

Would it be against the rules if we cut Van Roten twice?

Sign: David Njoku, Marcus Williams, Dante Fowler, and a CB (JC Jackson, James Bradbury, or Akhello Witherspoon)

(Then, per Football Guy’s suggestion in his thread…)

Trade: #10 to DEN, for
Jerry Jeudy and #40…

nice write up. Feel like there's a lot probability in what you did here. Depending on how FA shakes out, going PR and DB with those first two picks is a higher likelihood than I think most Jet fans want/realize...

I also think the "WR need" has been blown WAY out of proportion by fans. I don't believe the organization shares that view. Not to the tune of trading for a #1 and spending a top 50 pick.... and resigning Berrios. I don't think there's any chance of that happening.

I like most of your picks. I'd be surprised if Ruckert lasts that long... or maybe not. we'll see. I don't like T. Allgeier... but whatever at that point. Bell is probably my least favorite thing you did there. He's a day 3 talent for sure and will be lucky to stay on a roster. He's like Tyler Johnson, crafty but will be cannibalized by DBs for his lack of athleticism. Serious gamespeed concerns IMO concerns at the NFL level.

No help for Zach in the first 4 picks when his development is the only thing that matters on this team right now. If he doesn't develop properly we have no chance. IMO, all impact picks aside from edge should be to help Zach on offense. WR, Oline, TE, (with edge). D in FA and picks after the second round. Also, WR 1 in FA and CB1.

You realize this is for fun, right?  Like, you understand these arent real?  And your feedback is stupid.  It's almost like you didnt even look at the draft and you're talking about FA?  What does that have to do with a mock I did while I was taking a sh*t?  lmfao.  This was a month ago, by the way.  lmfao  so weird.

Neal, Hutch and Thibs went in the top 3, which is a worst case scenario for the Jets. I chose to build a super unit on the OL.

I really wanted to go edge at 10, but Ojabo was gone and I don't think Karlaftis is worth a top 10 pick. @kdels62 is a huge Gardner fan, so I took his word for it and went Gardner at 10.

Wilson was a layup at 35.

I wanted to double dip at edge since I didn't grab one in the first.

If Wilson is available at 35 he has to be the pick. That’s immense value.

Are you kidding me?  Lol. You neg rep’d a joke post from over a month ago and bumped it to critique it.  You only did this to me.  That seems personal.

And there was nothing personal in my post.  I found this behavior odd and made my response about your behavior, not you.
