Show Your Mock 2022 (All JN Mock Drafts Merged)

Recommended Posts

It’s been a while but here goes

Re-sign: Berrios, Moses, LDT, Kroft, Nick Bawden, Joe Flacco

Release: GVR, Rankins, Griffin

Sign: Allen Robinson, Mo Allie-Cox, Jerrick McKinnon, 2nd WR (Sammy Watkins/ Adam Humphries), Backup IOL

I also drafted Daniel Bellinger, TE.

Anyway, I tried to focus cap dollars on offense and used premium assets on defense. I was able to get a second round, a third rounder and first next year to move down to 9, I gave up 4 and a 4th rounder.

Edge Rotation: JFM, Lawson, Huff, Kyle Phillips, David Ojabo

DT Rotation: Quinnen, Winfrey, Marshall, JFM, Smart

WR: Allen Robinson, Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, Drake London, Braxton Berrios, Humphries/ Watkins

TE: Mo Allie Cox, Isaiah Likely, Tyler Kroft

CBs: Gardner, Hall, Echols, Dunn, MC2, Guidry

S: Brisker, Pinnock, Davis

LB: Mosley, Quincy, Nasrildeen, Andersen, Sherwood

OL: Becton; AVT, CMG, LDT, Fant, Moses, Strange, Edoga, FA signing

RB: Michael Carter, McKinnon, James Cook

Honestly… this is perfect

You’d need a FA guard, a TE who could compete with Ruckert and start if he’s not ready, a starting caliber safety, and a DT re-signed or brought in - but that’s pretty doable.

I think the Cook pick makes a big difference in a draft that’s not offense heavy on its face but London/Ruckert/Cook all help the QB. I like the idea of going developmental on the OL. And while I’d be into Winfrey starting off with Gardner/Ojabo/Dean would be a haul.

It doesn’t seem like a crazy unrealistic mock either. London is probably the biggest stretch but if he doesn’t run/runs poorly it could happen.

Playing around with the PFF simulator while supposed to be working draft.  The trades function is fun:

Coops, really like what you did, would have selected a TE with one of your 2 picks in the 30’s. Maybe not value, but definite need. Your getting both Edge and OT early in Round 1 is a win.

Thanks, that one did work out well. You're right about TE, I wish I had addressed that earlier. I got very caught up in value, and saw there were loads of TEs left. Then they all disappeared, leaving me with Otton - a guy I like from a school that does generally produce solid pros, but not one of the very top TE prospects in this draft.

I didn't put much thought into this draft other than solidifying the defense. I have no idea if these players are even scheme fits. I drafted players who I heard about for the first time right before selecting them, because none of this matters anyway. It would cool if I accidentally drafted good players when I look back at this.

Dropping from #4 and #10 to #9 and #18 it looks like you took 2 2nd round 2023 picks. I like your draft but I would have rather had those picks this year. Walker could be a nice addition.

Oil there were some trade proposals that netted another 2 round pick for this year but I like the idea of having multiple high end picks for next year to start getting a pipeline of talent in Especially since the two second rounders are from WFT and Detroit whose picts next year should be in the 40’s

well.... was going to try to do a mock as if JD took care of defense in FA. but even this got to "Offense heavy"

Gardner went off board right before pick 10. and McBride went before 2nd rd picks. anyway I guess we can call this the Wilson support draft.

We pick #35 in the second round.  Teams with the same record rotate draft position in every round.
Weird that PFF doesn't have that correct.

We must all reject any mock draft conducted on their site.

I don't hate it. Would probably prefer a WR with one of our picks in the 30s though. Zack needs more weapons.

TDN Mock Draft, 2.25.22

Trade #10 to the Saints
Receive: 1(18), 3(100), 4(118), and a player toss-in, Bradley Roby

4. Kayvon Thibodeaux.   (This could easily be Jermaine II if the FO doesn't like the me-first-brand of Kayvon... but that first step tho!)
18. Tyler Linderbaum.    (If you're going to "build from the trenches" and you run a wide-zone, this is our target, not Icky)

35. Perrion Winfrey.       (There is going to be a pick that everyone bitches about on draft night, then celebrates mid-season)
38. John Metchie III.      (Remember in 2020 when he was the "next big Alabama WR," since then all he did was 96 rec., 1140, 8TDs, runs 4.3)

69. Jeremy Ruckert.          (Just missed McBride by four picks in this mock, but I think Ruckert will pair nicely with David Njoku)
100. Sterling Weatherford   (Have you seen him hit? This kid is 6'4, 215, played on our SB team, and will compliment Marcus Williams in that quasi-SS/LB role that Saleh seems to love)

109. Troy Anderson.        (Played QB, RB, and LB... will star on Special Teams.  Probably wins the award for "player who loves football")
115. Alec Pierce.              (6'3, 213 WR who looks like Zach Wilson and went 52, 884, 8TDs with an insane 17.6 yd average)
118. Jesse Luketa.             (LB with designated PR ability; coached him at SB and he did not disappoint)

145. Jerome Ford.          (Power Back, is the '2' in our 1-2 punch.  Elite one-cut runner who, stop me if you've read this before: we coached at the SB)
162. Jelani Woods.         (Charlie Kolar was available in this Mock, but realistically I don't think he's there at the bottom of 5, so I went with the high upside developmental TE who challenges Yeboah for that last TE seat...kinda reminds me of Antonio Gates).

If we're moving back 8 spots we need something more than a 3rd+4th.

I would look in free agency for the veteran WR.  If you remember, we brought in Barylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes when we had success with a young QB.  With Corey Davis and Elijah Moore, bring in another veteran.  It allows you to build those trenches on both sides and the TE

The Corey Davis veteran signing doesn't look great so far. I'm not convinced the next veteran we we bring in would work any better unless we hand out a huge contract (Adams).

I agree.  The point value was equivalent to another 3rd rounder, so I opted for Bradley Roby (helps their cap situation, helps our CB situation.. plus he's young and decent)
