Sauce available at #11 derailed my plans for hitting Edge rusher with one of the first two picks.  Also pushed me to trade up for Burks.  Fortunate getting Mafe at #35 I think.  Almost went with Christian Harris (LB) at #43 but got greedy for the Offense.  Upgrading the D with Sauce and Mafe feels good, but adding Ikem, Burks and then Walker really makes me feel like we'd be giving Zach Wilson the best chance we could to accelerate in his second year.  That's what pushed the decision at #43.

The Jets would be an absolutely beast rushing team having added Tomlinson, CJ, Conklin, Ikem, and Walker this offseason.

I'd take this Draft.

Just curious where Icky plays?

Either LT or RT.

At worst he could play the 6 games that Connor McDermott played last year on a team that had Becton, Fant and Moses.

Fant missed 2 games last year.  Becton has appeared in 15 games out of the 33 he's been in the league.  The Jets let Morgan Moses walk.

But that's just for 2022.  He'd have his guaranteed starter spot in 2023.

Ikem probably beats out Fant for a starting spot this year anyway, Fant then goes to the Morgan Moses role from last season.

OK, decided to build both sides of the Line and use the next picks to add Tier 2 WR's. I liked this outcome:

That’s a perfect draft. I just can’t see the board falling our way like that.

Jets trade #69 for Brandin Cooks WR. I think DK goes to KC.

#4: Ikem Ekwonu OT (I think he will be there and Joe Douglas won’t be able to pass him up)

#10: Jermaine Johnson Edge - If Johnson is not there, I’d go Karlaftis

#35: Christian Watson WR - Will provide depth this year and hopefully replace Corey Davis as the teams starting x WR

#38: Travis Jones iDL - We struck out on a couple 1-tech DTs in FA. Jones fills that void.

#69: traded for Brandin Cooks WR

#111: Jelani Woods TE

#117:  Pierre Strong Jr RB

#146: Dohnovan West iOL

#163: Jack Sanborn LB

I thought that it couldnt be done but, I've done it.  I've created an even better mock then the greatest mock ever mocked.  This mock, is actually, the greatest mock of all time.  I have literally fixed the NY Jets in 1 draft.  It's done, it's over.  We're covered.  We are on our way to all time greatness.  You're welcome.  I stay up at night, losing sleeping, wondering how, I'm not running the draft for some lucky franchise.

Not sure why its posting weird but it's brilliant nonetheless

Did you watch his pass sets at LT? He needs a ton of work and I wouldn’t trust him whatsoever starting over there. Watch this game and tell me he’s elite. Gave up way more pressure than he should have for being a top 5 picks, held a lot, and threw a bunch of unnecessary hits and pushes that would be flags in the nfl. Poor footwork. He likes to punch guys and hold them to keep them from getting around. JJ pulls a sick spin move in this game against him.

Connor Rogers now mocking him to Jets just yesterday. I don’t necessarily disagree with what you’re saying, although JJ is an elite pass rusher.

JJ wasn’t even the one who got the sack on him (he created a ton of pressure tho) it was Kier Thomas who might not even get drafted. He played pretty well against Ickey almost all game, and he’ll prob be a udfa or late round pick.

Thanks.  I was intrigued by the trade back offer from the Saints for their first round picks.  They ended up selecting OT Neal at 4.  I was very pleased to come away with the players I did in this mock.  My favorite player of Lindenbaum in the 2nd was a bonus and considered him with one of the firsts.
