CTJetsFan
Jets released WR Josh Doctson. New York also released CB Kyron Brown, TE Connor Davis, OL Leo Kolamatangi, K Chase McLaughlin, and WR Jaleel Scott. McLaughlin has bounced around as a spot starter and will likely catch on with another team this summer. Docston, the 22nd overall pick by Washington in the 2016 NFL Draft, opted out of the 2020 season. He's now three years removed from his best pro season -- a 44-catch campaign in 2018. Doctson, 28, should be able to land on a practice squad in 2021.

They seem to not care who kicks and get burned by it. Granted, they’ve sucked for so long it hasn’t really mattered. Still I feel it needs to be addressed

Once a K starts feeling that his kicks are all routine and he has had plenty of game kicks experience, they settle down and their talent can shine through.

I always feel they should’ve stuck with the kid who went to Seattle. I know some will say- NO! Looks what he did after he left- yeah he missed a few, but for the reasons you just stated... It just further illustrates my point.
C Mart
Safety Saquan Hampton from Rutgers was also placed on reserve/physically unable to perform list. Didn't even know he was on the roster. He tore his Achilles in the Seattle game. If he comes back healthy he could also be moved to LB. 6'1 210..4.5 40..2019 6th round draft pick of Saints Overview Hampton showed glimpses of becoming a potential star during his first three years with the Scarlet Knights, but injuries to both shoulders shortened his sophomore and junior seasons. Safety prospect with good size whose college versatility could get whittled down to a more specific role. Hampton might not have the agility and coverage twitch to handle man coverage in the slot, and his run support is too passive when he's backed way off the line. His run support is more instinctive and effective as a down safety and he should be able to handle man coverage on big tight ends. He will need to crank up the aggression level and consistently play to his size to make it as a backup in the league. And, unlike with just about any other position on the team, once you find your guy and he grows into the job, he can hang around for a long time. Many of these kickers are still good from 50+ yards into their late 30's...

Very important. They seem to not care who kicks and get burned by it. Granted, they’ve sucked for so long it hasn’t really mattered. Still I feel it needs to be addressed To be fair they actually HAVE NOT gotten burned by it very much. Up until the last couple of seasons they have been able to find kickers seemingly off the scrap heap who end up having good seasons. 2016 was the last year they had Nick Folk, who played well for the Jets for a few years. Then in 2017 they got Catanzaro, who was solid. Then in 2018 they had Myers, who was very good. Then in 2019 they had Ficken, who was solid. Then in 2020 Ficken got hurt and Castillo was not very good. Which leads us to our current state of affairs. Would it be nice to have one really good kicker, of course. But it hasn't been their biggest issue the past few years. They could have resigned Myers going into 2019 but he actually went on to have a so-so season after signing a pretty hefty contract with the Seahawks.
