Bridgewater criticizes Rhule

In Rhule's defense, with Teddy at QB there wasn't much chance of getting in the RZ.

Now with Darnold there's less of a chance

Glad we avoided Rhule as coach.  This guy's answer to the qb position is to sign Bridgewater to a 3 year deal and after that blew up in his face, trade a 2nd for Darnold and commit to him for a 5th ye

I’m a pro you know I could throw all of that out there man but that ain’t me. Lol.  Didn’t he just throw it out there in this interview.  People are funny.

^^^^doesnt know how to shut his moth.

Adams was right about Gase.  He was also bitter.  The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Huh? Every single Jets fan except SAR killed Gase the second he was hired.

Well I am sure the GM has a lot of input but not taking Jones or Fields at 8 IMO was just dumb. Yes you have 1 less player for 2020 in the draft but you have insurance against Darnold and even if they did not play Fields or Jones would still fetch a first in a trade a year or 2 down the road.

When Watson settles with his accusers the Panthers will go all in for him. Darnold will get a 4 game audition for another team during Watsons suspension and will get traded again.  The owner is infatuated with the idea of Watson.

Bridge will be out of work once Aaron Rodgers is traded to Denver.
Same goes for Rhule when Carolina fans figure out that Darnold is lousy.
How do you know Darnold is lousy? It didn't help him when he was under the QB killer in Gase. I think he had a pretty decent rookie season.

Sure he's 9 TD in 5 starts and 5 wins for NO including a QBR of 99.1 says Rhule is a genius.   Rhule signed him to a long term deal and doubled down on Darnold without any results.   Maybe Rhule isn't a great NFL HC.

Not taking either side here but isn’t that stuff on the GM?

Rhule had complete say in bringing in Teddy.  It was his decision.

I don't see the Panthers' need to practice Red Zone offense with Darnold. Won't make any difference.

Yes, I'm being snarky.

I kind of feel for Bridgewater. He hasn't been very lucky, between injuries, teams, and changing circumstances. I hope the nice checks make up for some of that.

I guess he means there is a lot more he could have said...  Let's face it.  It has to sting getting replaced by a guy with the worst quarterback rating the last three years not once.... but TWICE.   He is no doubt feeling a bit salty about it.

True but I don’t think that was a terrible decision IMO (didn’t work out but I get it in year 1). With that said, Rhule seems like he may have been overrated and I’m happy we got Saleh.

Exactly.  The dude was fired by Miami and 15 seconds later Chris Johnson hired him to coach the Jets.  Who in their right mind thought that was the best coaching hire they could have made?

This should be fine.

Who leads the NFL in RZ INTs the last 3 years, again?

I believe it is either Sam Sanchez or maybe Mark Darnold.

In fairness to Teddy, he did play QB for Mike Zimmer and Sean Payton.   He might know something about good NFL coaching.

Exactly! We are lucky we hired Gase instead of Rhule. Hear me out. If we hired Rhule he would have led us to a bunch of mediocre finishes which would mean that we would never have been in position to get Zac. So despite the fact that Gase was an absolute dumpster fire, he did help us get Zac! In my mind Rhule isn't a good NFL coach and his staff lacks the ability to properly coach his team up. Also, after completely wetting the bed by giving Bridgewater a huge contract they compound that problem by bringing in Sam and guaranteeing his 5th year option. You can't make this stuff up. We dodged a bullet by not hiring Rhule.

The organization pretty publicly dragged him. Not to say this is the most professional way to go but I can understand why he'd have bad feelings toward the Panthers.

What happened?

Adam Gase rid us of Mike Maccagnan, Jamal Adams, and Sam Darnold.  He belongs in the Ring of Honor, and I hope they honor him at halftime some time this season.

@SAR I should be the presenter. Decked out in Brooks Brothers casual and All Birds.

I was very disappointed yesterday by the Mets fans who gave multiple rousing ovations to Matt Harvey as they are the same people who would boo Mark Sanchez if the Jets ever invited him to do the coin toss.

I have no idea who Matt Harvey is. Haven’t watched baseball since the 90’s. But obviously you are correct.

Well I guess when you see him you can tell him that. It really isn't that serious, at least not to me.

They just made it very clear through various media channels that they thought he sucked and would be looking to aggressively upgrade the position. Basically blamed him/threw him under the bus for the season.

Gase did a great job here.  He got rid of Mac, got rid of himself and got rid of Darnold.

Didn't David Tepper say that " I didn't pay 2.2 billion to watch Teddy Bridgewater play QB?"

Too bad it didn't translate for him on the field. 😉

Keeping your opinions to yourself while you are within a system seems like a good rule albeit one where there should probably be exceptions.  Nevertheless, *probably* a good rule and one which Bridgewater stuck to.

I don't think the code professional ethics prevents a player from talking about these kinds of thing s once he is no longer within that system.

Not practicing two minute drills is probably a bad idea.  What did the league statistics say about their team efficiency in 2-minute situations?  If the effectiveness was poor and they did not practice it then the coaching staff deserved to get called on that.

Haha I hadn't heard that, but yes, that seemed to be the sentiment through the org.

Didn’t know this. Definitely not professional either but you know the old saying 2 wrongs don’t make a right. I guess it’s hard especially if your getting blasted in the press. You wanna get your side out
