Health tips: live longer and stronger

Recommended Posts

I would like to share my personal experience in nutrition and exercise. I have been learning about metabolism and the relevance with energy and weight control.

I am 50 years old and I feel energy all day. I suffered from severe cramps and as I studied metabolism, I have learned that the lack of potassium was causing these painful cramps. Also, due to the deficiency of magnesium, I was losing sleep every night. I have also noticed an increase tolerance to pain and inflammatory reduction.

                       ***Disclaimer***

This is just a suggestion, please consult your doctor or practitioner before supplementing with any substance.

*****************************************

The first step of helping increasing your metabolism is understanding your peripheral nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic). https://opentextbc.ca/biology/chapter/16-4-the-peripheral-nervous-system/

A balanced nervous system will help you with your overall health and decrease stress, inflammation and other related diseases. Magnesium and potassium are vital minerals to help balance the nervous system.

Secondly, you should have a blood test for magnesium, potassium and vitamin D3 levels. There have been studies that 68% of the population in the world is deficient of magnesium and potassium.

Magnesium combined with potassium (98% resides in the cell) and sodium produces your body's energy or ATP (Adenosine triphosphate). The body requires at least 400mg of magnesium and 4,700 mg of potassium daily. It is extremely important to supplement your body with these two minerals to help you produce ATP.

Magnesium and potassium are a dynamic duo to help balance your nervous system, sleep better, control your sodium levels (hypertension), lower blood pressure, decrease muscular pain, break off kidney stones, prevent osteopetrosis (loss of bone), reduce inflammation, extract excess water in your body, help the pancreas to produce good insulin, muscular spasms and thyroids.

From what I have learned, I recommend the following:

* Hydration- body weight/16= daily water consumption (8 oz). For example, 180 lbs/16= 11.25 cups x 8oz = 90 oz

* Drink green (only fresh) = green means rich in magnesium and potassium. I also recommend purchasing a juice extractor or a blender. I personally juice with beets, ginger root, lemon, cucumber, celery and carrots. All bottled green juices are a waste of money.

* Supplement as needed to reach the proper levels of potassium** (Edited)  (4,700 mg) and magnesium citrate (400mg).

* Use a natural area to enrich your body with free vitamin D3 from the sun and detox your body from electromagnetic radiation (cellphone, electronics, wifi).

* Zinc citrate is also an essential mineral for your immune system.

Also, if you really can try to cutoff wheat, rice and corn from your diet for at least two weeks to see the results. Shut down all refined  carbohydrates such as sweets, bread, candy, chocolate, sodas, fruit juice, any canned juice, ice cream and such while elevating your magnesium, potassium, zinc and D3 levels.

This good doctor said this, "the body was made perfect but with only one exception, an ignorant owner". It's never too late to learn yourself. Take ownership of your body!

Please feel free to help with this topic.

I masturbate daily.... good for the blood, energy levels and calorie burn.  😁😂

And don't forget the flood of endorphins and oxytocin afterwards.   Works wonders for relaxation as well as decreasing anxiety and depression.

And it also gets rid of mucous and toxins.

Intermittent fasting worked for me!  It drove me insane for about 3 days due to a sugar detox, but I'm doing OK now.  Losing weight, eating less, and yet still have a decent amount of energy left over for exercise.  It's like my brain and body needed re-training and finally got it.

Masterbation is good.  But I'm proof positive that masterbation with too much reliance on porn tends to be dangerous for our brains.  I freely admit my porn addiction and my efforts to overcome it.  Finally finding some victory in the last few months.

Congrats on finding some success.   Let me know if you want to get rid of any pesky porn subscriptions which might hamper your recovery.

You know what's fun?  Choosing and watching some porn together with manipulation.  Nice, hot change of pace, especially when the lady might select some gal-on-gal forays.

When you start picking your porn by the directors and writers start to worry.

Men and masturbation are like a marriage, "until death do us apart".

RLLOL.  So knowing who Bruce Seven is would point to a problem?

Again, RLLOL.  I can't help but think Bronx is punching a wall somewhere seeing how his thread devolved to that.  lol  Almost like old school JI/JN.  Really miss those epic threads that started in a place of innocence but wound up in a nut house (no allusion to the masturbation angle here).

All I can tell you is that, if you want to be fat, your only hope for satisfaction will be self indulgence; because, the chances are that your little weiner won't get hard enough to satisfy, in addition to neck breaking (trying to find it) during urination.

No doubt.  Seriously, kudos for what you have done managing your weight and overall health.  I'm genetically fortunate in terms of weight.  And I've been following healthy alternatives going back to the late 60s.

I think that the average person understands iota about their body. Most people's pancreas are shot due to carelessness and ignorance. People-who still drink soda in this century are the most ignorant or masochistic of all.

At the beach right now, most people are.obese. People are obsessed with the pandemic, when the worst enemy is the "silent killer", hypertension. Grocery carts filled with junk, dead food with no energy.

People need to be educated, too much ignorance.

Absolutely.  I eat fairly healthy.  I eat a head of celery every week.  Salads with fish or chicken for dinner 3 to 4 times a week and workout everyday.

Totally agree that soda--and most other bottled drinks--are trash.  The acidity in them contributes to the epidemic of reflux issues people experience today.  This from a guy whose family had cases of soda delivered when I was a kid.  No wonder my teeth were riddled with cavities.

Funny that you mention grocery carts.  I'm always stunned at the level of processed foods I see folks buying.

I’m at the beach in NC and shocked by young kids smoking.

It is a sad sight. Some kids now age are pre-diabetic before graduating high school. Evwryone knows that eating junk food is bad, however, the lack of knowledge in anatomy, deters the urgency of proper nutrition.

First, I hate you for being at the beach and I'm at home, landlocked, in Bergen County.

Geez, that's crazy  To quote Seinfeld (I think), have they read a paper (online now, I guess) in 20 years?  I grew up with parents and everyone my family associated with who were chronic, incessant smokers.  Had an uncle who was a four packs/day guy.  For whatever reason, it never appealed to me.  I hate all aspects of smoking.

I have several esophageal issues which caused me to get educated in a hurry about acidity and additives in food.  As an example, I mainly drink alkaline water to denature pepsin in my esophagus due to refluxing.

I wound up under the care of two reflux/esophageal disorder pioneers, Drs. Jamie Koufman and Jonathan Aviv.  They each have books which outline a healthy overall approach to diet, not just related to acidity.  Dr. Koufman's book, the wonderfully titled "Dropping Acid", is particularly noteworthy.  She does an excellent job of explaining how soft drink bottlers and giant food consortiums have led to much of the demise in our overall food system as well as health.

In my case, I knew a great deal about nutrition.  I just didn't follow through with the advice.  At every turn I failed to treat food as fuel.  Instead it was all about taste and getting as much sugar as possible.  My relationship with food was unhealthy in every way.

You must always have compassion for obese people because we all are fighting an uphill battle, even the healthy people.  Nearly all food in this country that is not fresh is designed to get us addicted, with almost no regard for actual nutritional value.  It's all about finding the right combination of sugar, salt and fat to get us hooked.

I'm still obese but I'm making strides.  I was well over 300 during the height of the pandemic (and was also gaining weight at an alarming pace well before then).  As of last week I was down to 282 and am continuing to drop.  I don't own a digital scale currently (which also demonstrates how unhealthy I've been, lol), but will get one and start to track my weight more diligently.
