Being a fan since '70, it's really difficult to let myself get psyched. But after so many years of drafting guys who turned out to be meh or worse, it would be true cosmic justice if the Jets had a cluster of talent develop the way some other teams (thinking of the Bradshaw era Steelers, the Aikman era Cowboys, etc.) had a couple of years of historically great drafts that set them up for a decade.

Exactly! To think we got him after after 2nd rated QB and top rated guard makes it even more unlikely it actually happen. Too Non Jetsy to be true.

this draft (along with Becton and Mims from last year) can setup our team to be a top 10 team for years to come even if Wilson turns out to be just average or bad.  Moore will be the best WR from this draft

If Wilson turns out to be bad, the only way this becomes a top 10 team is if they luck into another QB.

Not to mention, we have 4 picks in the first two rounds next year as well.

it seems every year there are guys that come in and get these fluff pieces.  okay, mims looks pretty good so far and hopefully moore does too.  it's nice to see the jets getting some bigger receivers that should be able to challenge the db's.

You better pray Wilson is not bad because that means this team is bad. Wilson should not be bad unless this team fails him

Metcalf and brown are top 5 elite receivers in this league.  And Elijah Moore was drafted higher then both of them.  This kid is going to be a superstar.

Thank you Joe Douglas.  Thank you!!

I could not imagine setting myself up like this anymore

Very easy to get excited about this dude. That AJ Brown video where he was crying tears of joy for Moore was a bit "that's my quarterback-ish" but I can't help but see that, and articles like this, as genuinely encouraging.

For Jets to be "a top 10 team for years," Wilson will have to be good. An average (or bad) QB can be dragged to success now and then in a magical year but for sustained success and perennial contending you need to have The Man behind center. I'm not suggesting a good QB can do it all alone (been accused of that before) but having one is the ticket to ride.

There are 100 roads to a championship, 95 of them start with a good QB!
