The outside-zone rushing concept the Jets will run under LaFleur relies on short-area quickness and bursts of speed to get to the edges of the pocket. Carter possesses that skillset, which is why he’s an ideal fit in this offense. He posted the 10th-best 10-yard split at 1.65 seconds, per Nania, and his smaller frame will give him an advantage in avoiding defenders he wouldn’t have if he ran inside.

Carter is also a big-play threat on the ground, which is important in this offense. For reference, the 49ers were second in 2019 with 16 rushing plays of at least 20 yards. Carter ranked first in college football with 23 such plays. Carter also finished in the 95th percentile in yards after contact with 4.47, according to Nania.

Carter won’t be the feature back for the Jets, but that’s alright. Three running backs have at least 200 snaps in the 49ers offense since 2019, and the Jets certainly have the makings of a solid running back committee with Carter joining Tevin Coleman, Ty Johnson, Josh Adams and La’Mical Perine. One of those players will likely be the odd-man out, though the Jets could keep all four but deploy just three consistently.

I still  can't believe this kid fell to us in the 4th round (Leon Washington type of electricity, x2).

image.png.5e0b92b0bdd4a22ca64b530e1dc25635.png

Javonte Williams (5'10, 220 lbs).

Round 2 (35th overall).

157 rushing attempts for 1,140 rushing yards (7.3 yards per attempt) and 19 rushing TDs.

25 receptions for 305 receiving yards and 3 TD receptions.

(1,445 All-purpose yards from scrimmage)

Drafted 2nd Round (35th overall).

Vs.

Michael Carter (5'8, 200 lbs).

156 rushing attempts for 1,245 rushing yards (8.0 yards per attempt) and 9 rushing TDs.

25 receptions for 267 receiving yards and 2 TD receptions.

(1,512 All-purpose yards from scrimmage).

Drafted 4th Round (107th overall).

We got ourselves a big time steal here.

Yes. Williams had more TDS than Carter but that's only because Williams was a bigger body in comparison to Carter and had a lot more red zone and goal line opportunities than Carter did.

However.

Combined.

As a duo of an RB tandem?

UNC fielded one of the NCAA's most explosive offenses within all of college football.

• #4 ranked Passing Offense (Sam Howell, 3,586 passing yards).

• #9 ranked Scoring Offense (41.7 points per game).

• #11 ranked Rushing Offense (2,830 rushing yards).

√ PS: Michael Carter finished #4 overall in NCAA rushing yards last year.

only behind the likes of...

#1: Breece Hall = 1,572 rushing yards (5.6 ypc).

#2: Sincere McCormick = 1,467 rushing yards (5.9 ypc).

#3: Najee Harris = 1,466 rushing yards (5.8 ypc).

#4: Michael Carter = 1,245 rushing yards (8.0 ypc!).

That 8.0 yards per carry average ranked #1 within the Country (with at least 100+ rushing attempts).

I know I referenced Leon Washington earlier, but Leon Washington (FSU) never put up the type of production that Michael Carter did within the ACC (no comparison).

Michael Carter wasn't just a 2020 one hit wonder, either.

Also rushed for 177 attempts for 1,003 rushing yards and 3 rushing TD's to along with 21 receptions for 154 receiving yards and 2 TD receptions for a combined 1,157 All Purpose Yards from Scrimmage the year before last season (2019).

300+ rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs vs. a Top 10 team with an extremely fast Miami Defense? Nuts.

(We just drafted three of the most explosive OFFENSIVE PLAYMAKERS within the entire Country in Zach Wilson (QB), Elijah Moore (WR) and Michael Carter (RB).

QB: Zach Wilson.

WR: Elijah Moore.

RB: Michael Carter

That's an exciting (Rookie) offensive trio.

If anyone seriously thinks that needed an edit there's something more wrong with you than hertz's stroke brain.

Hopefully Crater I mean Carter doesn't disappear on the way home from Tammany Hall. I'll have to remember now who he also used to call Judge Crater years ago, probably the Dog Killer's fat younger brother

He also used to call Tom Coughlin Father Coughlin in case anyone is wondering what they're dealing with here. Laveranues Coles was Elsie The Cow. He also once said from one self-hating Jew to another, Julian Edelman is hated by all Jews the world over. Hahaha.
