Report: Jets add Morgan Moses With 1-Year Deal

Recommended Posts

Mission accomplished.

After weeks of rumors and negotiations, Joe Douglas and the New York Jets have landed free agent offensive lineman Morgan Moses.  Moses, who was let go by the Washington Football Team will plug in at the tight tackle spot for Gang Green, offering an upgrade over previous starter George Fant.

The #Jets are giving new OT Morgan Moses a 1-year deal worth $3.6M base, source said. Moses can get to $5.3M with 80% or more playing time incentives. A really solid signing, locking in a starter in June.

The deal is worth $5.3 million which will essentially come from the money the Jets freed up by recently re-working Jamison Crowder’s deal, freeing up $5 million in cap space.

With Moses on board, the Jets offensive line has now been transformed from one of the worst in the NFL, to one that should be able to make headlines and win some football games in the very near future.  Moses will play opposite Mekhi Becton with Alijah Vera-Tucker, Connor McGovern and presumably Greg Van Roten filling out the interior.

After botching the Sam Darnold experiment by surrounding him with lower-level talent, Joe Douglas has said that the O-line will be a top priority and has made good on his promise.
