PFF had the Jets offensive line rated 28th after the Jets picked Vera Taylor, but before the Jets signed Moses.

They said that Fant was a below average tackle, that Feeney and Van Roten were basically not very good.  Now that Moses is in the mix, I imagine that PFF would put the Jets in the middle of the pack.

What bothers me is that although we now don't need Fant to start, our depth on the offensive line is not considered very good, and whoever wins the right guard position will at least on paper be a below average player.

I think that if Becton stays healthy, if Vera Taylor is everything he is cracked up to be, if Moses plays the way he did last year, then the Jets have a chance to be a top 10 offensive line, maybe.

Which means that next year, the Jets will still need to draft either a right tackle (if they don't resign Moses) or a right guard high up.

The way that prior GM's on the Jets just forgot about the offensive line is still haunting this team, although JD is doing everything he can to change that narrative.

True, but for now they are just making sh*t up.

they are not doing anything anyone else isn't, including the people on this board...

people need to understand that PFF are looking at things through their own proprietary glasses, you don't have to agree with it...but based on their analysis this is what it is. take it or leave it.

to say you disagree with them based on what you or mainstream media think is apples and oranges.

Lord. I cannot wait till we’re a respectable franchise again, so you hyper-insecure fans can stop worrying about what the hell everyone else thinks.

What happened to quiet confidence?

Well you earn that don't you.  The jets have not at all in the least earned it.

As for the o line they are right fant is below average and our guards were bad

Vera tucker and moses should help this team a great deal.  The key is still becton, the guy has to play a full season.

What you earn in respect, is not married to what you do in the pursuit. We can discuss internally all day, about our concerns.

This is specifically on the issue of those driven seek out what others are saying about us. Since the draft, the forum as been peppered with "so and so ranks us here"  and of the like. Who cares.

Interesting interview with Jets new Run Game Coordinator on the Jets website. Seems like a sharp guy and his scheme sounds like it will be popular with the players. If the Jets are going to overachieve this year, this group is where it will start. I'm optimistic given the significant talent upgrade.

This is click bait stuff for sure. Of no meaning until we can see how the OL gels with new players. Also, of all units, the OL is the most impacted by how well the players coordinate and establish a chemistry, not to mention fit in a particular system. The Jets OL is in uncharted territory at this point. I'd like to see a few games in the season to judge what we actually have.

Couldn't agree with you more.

But this is the dead period.  What are we supposed to do?  If we can't speculate on how the Jets will play ahead of time, then why are we here?  There can only be  so many  threads discussing the new uniforms or great moments in tailgating.

The issue with PFF and rankings is that they often do not use their own statistical ratings for the rankings, these lists are usually someones opinion who will ignore their own grades when needed and quote them when they agree. Pretty useless.
