Becton was 6th , Wirfs was 8th.  Becton was ranked higher.

The 6-foot-7 Becton's blocking numbers weren't eye-popping last season. His 83.8% pass block win rate ranked 49th among tackles, but he battled through a chest injury as a rookie, and the Jets were a bad team. He ranked 16th in run block win rate (76%).

There is some projection from voters here, but it's clear that only injuries would stop him from improving those totals.

Side note for those who can’t see the whole article, Benton was listed as high as number two on at least one ballot. The future is exciting for tangible reasons, for once in Jet history, good to see even our relatively unproven guys get love around the league.

WOW!! Tbh I assumed Wirfs would be rated higher for sure. Not because I think Wirfs was better, but I haven't seen anyone rank Becton ahead of him. Wirfs got all the love last year because he played with Brady and already has a ring. Not to take anything away from him, he was a stud on the right side of that line. But I watched several Bucs games and, personally, I didn't think he outplayed Becton to the extent that the media has been talking him up. 

I'm not sure what EDGE guys he lined up against throughout the season, but I'm not sure he had any performances that match the way Becton was a beast against Bosa. 

I also heard an interview with Wirfs on NFL Radio after the Superbowl where he talked about how helpful it was for him to have Gronk blocking next to him. Not only did Becton step into LT day 1, he never had anything remotely close to the kind of help of having a TE like Gronk blocking next to him. Nor did he have anyone good on his other side playing LG. Throughout the season, Becton played on an island against the other teams top Edge guy and he did as well against them as anyone in the entire league!  Wirfs was great and I won't take that away from him but the situation he stepped into doesn't compare to what Becton accomplished

Brick’s best attributes were his steadiness and availability. He was consistently reliable, but never dominant, especially in the run game. Becton has already demonstrated an ability to be dominant. If AVT turns out to be worth what the Jets gave up to get him, that side of the line is going to be scary.

Some of you guys had me swaying on becton when he missed ota with the foot thing. 

eff that noise.  He looks so much better this offseason.  I say he plays in every game to silence the doubters.  His ability and nastiness speaks for itself on the field.  

Like someone said above.  He was on an island against some of the best last year. he was just one man on this offense and that one man kicked ass no matter how sorry the rest of the lot was.

For sure, just not enough to get to 70%.

I emphasize it so much because Connor McDermott sucks huge donkey balls. We've made improvements to the overall depth of the line, but a top flight tackle is only worth so much when your FQB is laying crumpled on the ground because your starting LT has an ingrown toenail (or sumthin).
