Blackout Posted March 7, 2006 Share Posted March 7, 2006 Delgado has tendinitis in left elbow March 6, 2006 SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) -- Carlos Delgado has tendinitis in his left elbow and could miss Puerto Rico's first game in the World Baseball Classic against Panama on Tuesday. "I'm a little sore," the New York Mets' first baseman said Monday. "This is a super important event, but if you're not in the necessary condition, you've got to be smart." The slugger said he was still undecided about whether he would play against Panama. Asked if he could play if the game was Monday, he replied: "No." Delgado was to receive treatment and make his decision Tuesday. The injury kept Delgado out of the lineup on Sunday for an exhibition game between the Puerto Rican team and the Mets in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
