That would be good statement if they took out the first 2 sentences taking a shot at the Vikings.

Newsflash: if they cut you that quickly then you weren't in their plans and you're also gonna wanna play for another team and they tend to not appreciate you publicly blasting another organization for doing something they will likely need to end up doing with you as well.

Saleh and Ulbrich’s defensive philosophies very much emphasize a consistent pass rush over sustained coverage downfield.

Get used to the Douglas/Saleh regime prioritizing the DL over man to man corners on the outside.

When it comes to DB’s, it’s always going to come down to scheme fit first and foremost and they’re always going to be pinching pennies, and rightfully so in this defense.

Keeping dudes like Q and Lawson will always be prioritized over finding a shutdown, man to man CB who can travel with the opposing teams #1 WR.

Complete contrast to what Jets fans have seen over the last 15 years since we shipped Herm to KC.

Gladney was their 1st round pick last year from TCU and started to play rather well towards the end of the season; he was DEFINITELY in their plans for the next couple of seasons due to they invested a 1st rounder in him. Zimmer can’t be too happy. Some team will get a STEAL & cheap at CB.

That agent (*corrected my mistake of saying attorney) statement is rather confident so we’ll have to see how it plays out; then again, Deshaun Watson started out confident, lol.

What are you going to do?

Bring in a 33 year old Richard Sherman who just tried drunkenly beating down a family members front door a month ago?

A guy like Steven Nelson has already signed elsewhere. What’s the point in having a mediocre journeyman like Bashaud Breeland steal playing time away from young guys like Hall, Austin, Dunn, Carter, Echols, etc?

I fully expect the Jets secondary to be their primary weakness this year. But that’s all fine and dandy if they’re consistently pressuring the QB on defense and Wilson shows bigtime flashes commanding an offense with some legitimate talent and depth at WR and at least an above average OL and running game.

EDIT: Even a guy like Breeland has signed with the Vikings. The Jets would seriously have to scrape the bottom of the barrel of the CB market at this point. Just roll with the kids this year and accept the fact that CB is going to be one of the bigger priorities in 2022 when you’re projected to have the 2nd most cap space in the league in addition to two 1st rounders and two 2nd rounders in the draft.

Michael Carter II may actually surprise and contribute as a DB in packages. Read he had an INT in camp.

Let the young DBs play and develop in a system that will rely more on their speed, length, & athleticism to lockdown their designated area and rely LESS on their man-cover technique.

Absolutely not.

The Vikings obviously know something more about him if they're cutting their losses already. They invested a lot into this guy and if he really was improving like some say they'd have let it play out if this seemed like an isolated incident. Obviously the kid has issues, the last thing he needs is New York and the last thing we need is to disrupt our team atmosphere with garbage.
