Training Camp 8/11

while I love reading all these tweets about practice (thank you to ALL of you who post these for us!!) my takeaway from today is that we CANNOT read too much into these!  for example there were two totally different perspectives on Mike White I noticed:  one guy said Morgan >>>> White today, and that White was not having a great day, but another said White was having a great day of practice!?!  huh??  (and neither of these guys were the fins fan who goes on errands because he's outta bounce...)

Like someone else here said:  CJ having a near INT of Zach could be spun as a great play by CJ, or a horrid throw from Zach.  we honestly do not know.

Looking for a dominant performance by our D-line and Zach this Saturday night!  (and not just because of my hatred of the vagiants!!  LOL)

Why do some fans on here get so riled up about people displaying concerns or “negativity?” Like what have the Jets done in the last 10 years that they should receive the benefit of the doubt? They’ve been the worst team in football for a decade now.

Just ignore the post and move on if it’s tainting your green glasses. Fans telling other fans how to be fans is the worst.

Well said.  I don't get it either.  It's a goddam message board.  Positive or negative, it's one of the few places Jet fans have to vent/comment.

I don't like the way Wilson looked on that hand off. He looked slow and his footwork wasn't right.  He clearly isn't ready and needs to sit for a few games to watch a veteran like Foles hand off properly in a regular season game. Plus Foles or some other veteran should be brought in as a hand off mentor.  Right now Wilson has no hand off mentor and it shows.    :/s

sheesh - really? maybe he just needs a hand job specialist

Saleh just talked about Zach having a conversation with Mosley after the near INT to open 11 on 11s.  He said that Zach saw the check down but wanted to test the LBs to see if he could squeeze in the 3rd read instead for practice purposes and to see if the WR could make the play.  Said that Mosley had excellent communication with him during the exchange.

I love that he had that conversation with Mosley.

cc: @JiFapono hopefully you feel a little better about Saleh’s quote from yesterday now, lol.

Honestly on two of the picks from the scrimmage Saturday that there was video of I wondered if something similar was going on. Both plays the receivers were all covered and only the check down was there, and instead he forced it. I see both sides of the testing limits in practice debate, but really we won’t get a definitive answer until we see game action.

Hope you are right because he was a terrible disappointment in Tennessee.

I dont agree.  Was he worth the 5th pick in the drat, no.  Did he get lapped by a much better player in AJ Brown, yes.  But that offense is not going to have 2 receivers put up monster numbers.  I think "terrible" disappointment is a bit strong.

funny that Saleh addressed the pads question in todays after practice presser.  He is using his own schedule for how he feels his team will respond both mentally and physically.  Not worried that Becton has been beat on pass rushes.  He is too great of a player and I am looking at this more as a positive for our new pass rushing specialist.  Hope the AVT thing clears up and it doesnt keep him out or nag him all year.

I get it, but it's better to practice good habits than bad ones.

Titans fans considered him to be a major bust.

Sorry, but the persistent whiners are annoying. They will whine whenever and wherever even if it is a positive thread.   Complaints are fine, but there are some people here for whom that's all they ever do. Thus the reactions here. And you do see the double irony in complaining about the complainers about those who do nothing but complain here?

Absolutely.  I have never complained about the complaining.  I've always figured it was part of the experience.

I agree.  I was there with my son, and I said that to him while we were there.  Listen, the Jets know what the fans want to see,  The 2s and 3s had each scored a TD, the 1s weren't playing great - let's give the fans a show.  they had 3rd and 3 one time I think, and Zach threw like 20 yards downfield.  could he have handed it off to Carter to get the 1st down?  yaaaay.  that wasn't the point of it.  sure, I was very disappointed, and wanted to see Zach shine, but the same way I wouldn't be on here on Monday talking about who will be inducting him into the HOF if he played lights out Sat night, I'm not ready to call him a bust either.

Sounds like a pretty ogood day overall.  Sounded liek the OL held up better.  DBs & LBs  made some plays in coverage.  Zach seemed to be better and Davis was WR1 -- at least for today.

What Saleh mentioned a couple days ago can't be stressed enough....each of these practices have been install days. That means that it is the first time all of the players are running the plays instead of just seeing them up on a whiteboard or an iPad. Fans can believe it or not but it actually takes a few repetitions to physically learn how to perform each play. Wilson is being graded by fans and the press on pop quizzes for information he just learned instead of waiting for midterms and the finals.

This is the same reason why a certain poster keeps harping on padded practices vs unpadded. 90% of the players on the Bucs already know the systems they are running. They aren't installing a new offense or defense. The other players can be brought up to speed individually. The Jets have 0 players that have run this offense or defense. They need to learn the plays by walking through, then running them in shells before they can run full speed with pads and tackling. I know it's hard to believe but the Jets are not in fact, in the same situation as the reigning World Champs.

I was going to look up Faneto in the urban dictionary, but decided I don't care that much.

Figured you couldn't really live without knowing that, so here ya go.

Faneto means finesse. Faneto is a song that was released by Chicago rapper Chief Keef in 2014, in it, he raps "Know you can't get no money silly ho - I just hit a stain, faneto." Fans were initially confused as to what that the slang Faneto meant, but Chief Keef later revealed its definition
Faneto means finesse

Guess we'll have to learn another language if we're going to follow DJ  :)

It certainly feels like we have 4-5 young guns at CB who are all making plays.  We may not have a superstar (at least not yet) but with the DL we hope we will see, this deep set of aggressive, athletic players may be just fine.

I'm interested to see how they do against Rodgers and Adams next week...

Rodgers may not throw.  They are giving Love a lot of reps.

I'm hoping Lawson gets to 'tap him on the shoulder' a bunch of times early :D
