GreenFish
Yes!! And if/when sh*t hits the fan, run for the hills and stop watching. Basketball and hockey season will be starting up. So you can get a pick me up there. Then when basketball and hockey dissappoint run for the hills again. The nfl draft will be there to pick you up. Rinse and repeat. Facts
5 hours ago, Copernicus said: We haven't won a single regular season game yet, and that's what its about but in my opinion, Jets fans could not have asked for much more this off season. I for one am so appreciative just being back in the conversation of competent NFL football. After last night's MNF game, I sense a slight change in perspective from the media as well. Our lowest point had to be mid December when the "experts" were suggesting that Trevor Lawrence stay in school rather than ruin his career by being taken by the Jets. Then we win against the Rams guaranteeing losing out on a "generational" QB. What has transpired since, from a Jets perspective, is truly remarkable. While no one is perfect, at the very least Joe Douglas looks like he knows what he’s doing. Thank you Joe Douglas for simply looking competent (and if Im honest, even much better than just competent) . - After such a depressing end to an even more miserable season somehow Joe Douglas landed the top rookie HC prospect in Robert Saleh who also has had the top defenses in the last few seasons overcoming catastrophic injuries. How exactly did this happen considering we were a national laughing stock? - Robert Saleh then hires La Flafuer and immediately (and reluctantly) the "experts" and fans are excited that we have one of the best young offensive minds available. So much that it was mentioned during the Saints/ Jags MNF game at what a disadvantage Trevor Lawrence is at with the coaching staff of the Jags. - We are (were) considered, by the experts, as a laughing stock but somehow sign top available FAs (on paper) in Cory Davis, Moses and Karl Lawsen. Follow up with Jarred Davis, Cole, and restructure Crowder. - With our coaching staff in place, we then turn to the draft and the million dollar question: What to do at QB? The debate of Zach, Fields, keep Darnald and trade down was dissected every which way. We trade Sam for an absolute heist (again). A 2nd and 5th for a QB we didnt want and who hasnt played well. Again, how exactly did Douglas pull this off? - As the draft process continues it becomes clearer that Zach might be special enough to take with the second over all pick but there is still strong debate about Justin Fields and to a lesser degree Trey Lance. - Zach’s play (thus far) speaks for itself. Close to perfect when developing a rookie Qb but of course with minor setbacks with room to improve. Couple a hiccups but nothing to get too negative about. - Vera Tucker, Moore, Carter, and the late round picks all look like they can contribute. - Crazy high expectations for Moore who is being praised all around. targeting at 23 and somehow got him in the 2nd. - Of course we are all devastated by the Lawson injury and we still have some holes to fill but we are moving in right direction. I feel a lot more confident as a Jets fan than I would if I were a Lions, Giants or Jaguar fan. Media is killing the Jaguars coaching staff and schemes today. - After watching Trevor Lawrence struggle against the Saints (and week 1 of pre seasons), and hearing all the “experts” make excuse after excuse for him it makes me rest just a little easier that we may have just gotten so lucky having the 2nd pick overall rather than the 1st. - It makes me rest even easier that Joe Douglas, while not perfect, continues to put the right people in place to build success. Is it ok to feel good? This reads like something someone in the Jets front office would have written and pushed out as marketing material. But that’s good. Because we need optimists to counterbalance the pessimists (like me). Without the other side of the coin, there is no coin.

NYJ1
NO. Now is the time to stop listening to all these hacks on the radio and TV. Let your EYES do the evaluation. You eyes with your brain. It's absurd to constantly take someone else's word for something when your eyes and brain know it to be different.....
GangGreened
It’s fine to feel good. Just don’t have a meltdown when things are not good.
jgb
Feeling good is great. But if you do it while blasting those who are skeptical, clench for the inevitable comeuppance.
