Archie Manning played on bad teams. He didn't suck i never said Darnold, away from the Jet's will become a pro bowler. All i said was, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he doe's well elsewhere. He was in a terrible soot here the last two years. Terrible.

As a Darnold fan, you might appreciate this.  And I'll share it with the Carolina OP and others as well.

I'm getting up there in age, so this stuff does not happen every day.  Anyway, the other night in bed, my wife goes full spur of the moment and asks me if she could please me in an "oral fashion".  Without missing a beat, I said, "You're such a great wife and my sweetheart.  But no, I'm okay.  No need.  In case you haven't heard, Sam Darnold is no longer a Jet."

Then, I kissed her goodnight and slept like a baby.

Why are people here talking about Sam Darnold. Starting threads about Sam Darnold. Probably 45 people replied to this thread, before i did. Most of the people respond want to let everyone know that Darnold stinks. He's in Carolina now. Who cares if he stinks.

I understand. It's impossible for me to respond to that list We'd have to go through two bottles of Patron for that to happen

You were the one who said Darnold had a chance to become a franchise QB for them.  All I'm saying is that it's a preposterous possibility.

It's just odds. Hey, sometimes the 1000-to-1 underdogs come in. But don't bet your lunch money on it.

There is a chance of Sam becoming a FQB in the sense that there is a non-zero percentage possibility that it could happen. But anyone who wants to bet on a Sam Darnold turnaround should ask for odds.

No it's not preposterous. To you it is. That's fine. To me, i wouldn't bet on it. If that happens, he is just finally validating why he was the 2nd Qb drafted in 2018.

Some of those Qb's listed we're system QB's. Some had issues unrelated to football. Some of those QB's we're reaches and failed because they never had the skills that translated to the NFL game. So yes, the percentages still indicate it's an uphill climb for Darnold. But that list is a little misleading.

Good points made. They changed coverages to slow Robby down. ?????I know reading Panthers forum they complained about Bridgewater not being able to get the ball downfield beyond a certain point.

Despite the username, I'm no big Bridgewater fan.  I actually was an Anderson fan.  I can't say I followed Carolina closely enough, but my understanding was that their may have been some of both here.

Dude. You're obsessed with me.

You can't even Defend your favorite QB Sam Darnold (one on one like a man) without mentioning my username.

Here. You want to defend your favorite QB? I'll give you something to defend and now you can defend THIS (below).

High School: 8 INTs and 17 Fumbles and 15 were lost (Zach Wilson fumbled 0 times) despite only 26 games played.

USC: 22 INTs and 20 Fumbles (14 lost) for a combined 36 turnovers (despite only 27 games played).

Jets: 39 INT's and 20 fumbles (15 lost) for a combined 54 turnovers (despite only 38 games played).

HS/NCAA/NFL = Only 91 games played but yet a combined 69 INTs, 57 Fumbles (44 lost) for a combined 113 turnovers.

Your favorite QB is an INT Machine, a Fumbling Freak of Nature and an all around turnover prone QB (who should've stuck to HS LINEBACKER).

I didn't watch any of there games. Why Anderson's production went down. Im not sure. Obviously they cut Teddy loose, and extended Robby. That gives us an idea at least on how the Panthers viewed it.????

Pssstt.. when trying to nick a few names off the list is your best argument, you've already admitted that the premise is sound :)

Other than Toyah's "visuals", can't say I'm a fan of their slew of covers.    But Fripp is an incredible guitar player.  One of my favorites, for sure.

Yea. It became real popular during the lockdowns and everything. They're really milking it now.And im not much of a fan of the cover stuff, either. I think it's a Toyah thing

Fair point.  There was some debate here before the draft about keeping Darnold and drafting Pitts instead of trading Sam and drafting Wilson.  Nobody is debating that anymore.

Why would anyone debate a moot point?

The decision was made. We all moved on.

Only time will tell what was the correct choice. Whatever has happened since the trade means squat.

It is sound. Never said you and others weren't justified in your views. You have more ammo to work with, also.

Before posting again could you provide the following pieces of information:

  • Your screen name on your Panthers message board

  • Two forms of I.D. such as a passport
  • A stool sample that's been sculpted into the facial image of your favorite Panthers player*

Im not avoiding you. He's not my QB. He's the Panthers QB. If the Jet's didn't draft him at #3 someone very shortly after would have. A lot of oeoole thought he'd go #2 to the Giants. They knew what you knew. We all know the stats. We all know about his struggles here. Darnold failed the Jet's. The Jet's failed Darnold. Let's see what happens in Carolina. A lot of question about him will be answered. Not by me or you, bit by him. On the field.Like i said before. These Darnold threads are for the most part being responded too by posters who for some crazy reason, want to remind people that he stunk here. It's thier wierd obsession not mine. He's a Panther. I hipe he doe's well. He's never given me a reason to hope he fails.

You mean like trading him and upgrading the position? ?

Signing WR Corey Davis as a big name FA, drafting WR Elijah Moore 2nd round, drafting Alijah Vera-Tucker 1st round, signing Morgan Moses as a beast RT and stealing HR threat Michael Carter etc just isn't good enough for the JD critics.

And I guess neither is top 3 available salary cap 2022 and 7 picks first 4 rounds either.

I mean. Some are acting as if JD is setting Zach Wilson up for failure as Macc setup Sam Darnold for failure when imo it's the complete opposite.

JAX fans would do anything to trade for Joe Douglass right about now.

Darnold has a fair amount of natural ability and athleticism. He will show flashes and show promise. He was in a bad situation here and with Joe Brady and the Carolina weapons I think he'll have statistically his strongest season with you guys.

That said, having watched every Darnold NFL start:

1) He's a bad decision maker and will always turn the ball over at a higher rate than is sustainable.

2) There's nothing comfortable and fluid about him. He's just kind of wonky in his mechanics and footwork.

3) He doesn't make the easy, consistent throws you routinely need to make, even if he's capable of making a big throw here or there.

4) I would be extremely surprised if you guys weren't in the market for a new starter in 2022.

Gonna be tough when they’ll owe Darnold $20M fully guaranteed next season on his 5th year option.

Would also have to wonder if Rhule and co. will get the chance on picking their 3rd QB.
