Popular Post Scoop24
Not a game changer by any means. He is cheap , productive and we needed the depth. Shaq Lawson: 1,055 Defensive Snaps. 64 Tackles. 10.5 Sacks. 17 Tackles for loss. 18 QB Hurries. 24 QB Knockdowns. 36 QB hits. 53 QB pressures. 141.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined). Vs. Carl Lawson 1,180 Defensive Snaps. 59 Tackles. 10.5 QB Sacks. 10 Tackles for loss. 15 QB hurries. 41 QB Knockdowns. 54 QB hits. 67 QB pressures. 187.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined). PFF's ranking system is comple trash. JD just got ourselves an exciting pass rushers who's much better against the run than Carl too. 2

65 Toss Power Trap
We'll take that. Only a 6th rounder and the Jets have a lot of money if Shaq is decent. Can't hurt.

Popular Post 65 Toss Power Trap
It's nice to see this team make moves to be competitive now while still saving future draft capital. Popular Post 92ShaunEllis92
That’s about the best you could hope for this late into the offseason and right before the mandated roster slashing and then the season starts. He’s a solid run defender but not the pass rushing force they claimed he’d be coming out of Clemson. For a 6th, it’s a solid move in adding veteran depth. 7 2

Embrace the Suck
Great move for a 6th round pick and no long term commitment should we choose to move on. When Carl is healthy next year the jets are going to "lay down the law off the edges". Time to start drinking, and forget I just said that.

Popular Post choon328
QB hits and QB pressures tell more of the story. Carl Lawson is a MUCH MUCH better pass rusher than Shaq Lawson and it's not close. I do think it's a solid addition but if anybody thinks he'll be as productive as Carl Lawson they need their head examined. And if anybody agrees with some stooge on this site who has zero football knowledge you need to be committed. Shaq will be a part of a rotation with the other young Edge Rushers. He's not going to be an every down starter. Good depth piece added that will keep guys fresh. 6 1 1
rtnelson
I don't know anything about this guy. But if he can contribute this year to help the defense at least be respectable you can't complain about using one of three 6th round picks next year even if we move on from him after the season. 1

We needed another body, preferably a veteran and someone who has had some pass rush success. Shaq checks all three of those boxes. Was this essentially a trade of Jordan Willis for Shaq Lawson (separated by a year)? If so, that's good value.
Popular Post KRL
Low risk high reward move. With Carl Lawson gone the key to our pass rush will be the interior pressure Williams & Rankins brings. If that duo causes havoc Shaq Lawson could revive his career 9
