Fk PFF dude.

Look at the REAL numbers.

Shaq Lawson:

1,055 Defensive Snaps.

64 Tackles.

10.5 Sacks.

17 Tackles for loss.

18 QB Hurries.

24 QB Knockdowns.

36 QB hits.

53 QB pressures.

141.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

Vs.

Carl Lawson

1,180 Defensive Snaps.

59 Tackles.

10.5 QB Sacks.

10 Tackles for loss.

15 QB hurries.

41 QB Knockdowns.

54 QB hits.

67 QB pressures.

187.5 QB Sacks/Hurries/Knockdowns/Hits/Pressures (combined).

PFF's ranking system is comple trash.

JD just got ourselves an exciting pass rushers who's much better against the run than Carl too.

Wow. if those numbers are somewhat predictive of the future, what a pick up!

Pretty sure we had 2 or 3 6th rounders, gladly trade one of them for a veteran edge who can help us this year.

Yup.  We still have two 6s next year.  Our own, and the one we got from Tampa for Steve McLendon.

So, between these two reports, he is either being paid $9M or $990K.   Or somehwere in between, becuse I already posted one that says his cap hit is ~$3.0M this year.  I guess I will wait until Jason (OTC) posts his salary/hit.  The one reliable source of this info.

Great move for a 6th round pick and no long term commitment should we choose to move on. When Carl is healthy next year the jets are going to "lay down the law off the edge".  Time to start drinking, and forget I just said that.

It also gives us some flexibility for next year since he is under contract for '22.  No long term commitment, but we do have option to keep him if he plays well in this defense.

His cap hit with the Jets is $1.4 million for 2021.

Keeps the Jets honest on the Edge.  We needed another body, preferably a veteran and someone who has had some pass rush success.  Shaq checks all three of those boxes.

Was this essentially a trade of Jordan Willis for Shaq Lawson (separated by a year)?  If so, that's good value.
