Just because a guy was damn good in college doesn’t mean that they’re going to be great in the pros, especially when it comes to kickers. doitny Posted September 3, 2021 Share Posted September 3, 2021 i dont know why everyone wants to waste a PS spot on a kicker. we had 2 and Amendola won it weeks ago. and he has played well. out of the 16 spots we filled 13. QB-1 RB-1 WR-2 TE-1 OL-2 C-1 DL-2 LB-2 CB-1 with 3 spots left maybe at least 1 safety? definitely another CB. what about another RB. or another TE considering how Yeboah cant block if we get hit with injuries there it could be a problem. you dont keep kickers and punters on the PS. yes some teams do but its stupid. you could sign a kicker anytime sitting on his couch. and hes ready. but position players who are the ones who get hit and hurt need the depth. what happens if we get multiple injuries at a spot with only 1 player like CB? the other CB will have to come from another teams PS and have to learn our playbook on the fly. it might take him a few weeks to really get it down. we cant waste a spot on a kicker cause you guys like him from college. cause he was the best rated K in the draft. apparently hes not as good as you think. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was surprised to see Tampa going into the season with 2 kickers. Borregales wasn't cut when Succup was activated, so it looks like the Bucs will roll with 2 kickers for now. They have to know that a few kicker hungry teams would put in claims if they try to sneak him through waivers and onto the PS. Their plan is probably to keep him around as insurance, and then have him as a real challenger for the job next year. So he's unlikely to be available for the Jets, or anyone else. In any case, our kicker is perfect in his preseason career, has great range on FGs, and is terrific on kickoffs. It's Ammendola's job to lose at this point. If the Jets feel Borregales is better bring him in and cut Ammendola. Hoping The Jets finally find their Vinatieri.
