whodeawhodat
I guess that is a thing??? Coz quoted Ulbricht saying that. I am familiar with rb by committee but cornerback by committee. Not the assurance I was looking for a couple days before our opener....
FidelioJet
We have 1 starting CB. it really is just a matter of finding the 2nd one. Our HC feels comfortable in who we’re putting out there. The CB situation is far less scary than most are making it out to be.
munchmemory
Please, dear Lord in heaven, don't make me watch Sam Darnold light these guys up for four TDs. 1
Saul Goodman
Hall is locked in as “#1”, though he should be a #2 CB. Echols and Dunn will split time for the first few games, but I think Echols emerges as the better player.
Popular Post Beerfish
There is a reason TJ Watt just got a gazillion dollars and why I cried like a baby when Carl Lawson went down after destroying training camp. If you can dominate in pass rush and along the dline your suspect corners become far less of a problem. 5
Embrace the Suck
Sounds like: If you aren't performing well you'll get benched that game for someone who is performing well. Personnel may also dictate who starts. For instance taller physical guys as opposed to say smaller quicker guys depending on who the other guys trot out there. MykePM
Haven't listened to the Ulbrich interview yet, but this could mean that they'll decide who plays based on matchups. For example, perhaps they'll play Javelin Guidry on the outside this week, because he's the best CB we have to combat Robby Anderson's speed, but another week they may go with Echols if they feel his skill set would work better against the opposing WRs in that game.
Barry McCockinner
Yea this is going to be a disaster on defense this year.

When Lawson went down this became the safe assumption, but there is still lots of talent on the DL. I think it's going to be ugly though.

Robby isn’t known for being an exceptional route runner. With this zone scheme with Joyner and Maye I’m hoping those deep routes are eliminated. The more accurate throws required of Darnold the greater our chance of victory. Contain and make Darnold beat us. 1
slimjasi
Doesn't quite roll off the tongue like running back by committee, does it?
mrcoops
Reminds me of 1988, when basically our entire secondary were rookies. You had Erik McMillan, James Hasty, John Booty, Terry Williams. Our current rookies weren't picked as high as McMillan, Hasty and Williams, but we just need one of them to emerge as a legit starter and for at least one other to contribute this year.

He plays for a coach that understands that 9 route is not the only route

rangerous
how could these guys be worse than having trumaine or roberts back there? the jets haven't had a decent cb pair since cro and revis the first time. it all starts with the dline and qb pressure.
