He was supposed to be a good D coach and at least here he wasn’t. His defenses routinely underperformed the Jets secondary (his specialty and position as a player in the NFL) was pretty bad players out of position and beatable. Sometimes it wasn’t even close big gaps coverage breakdowns on a regular basis. I liked Bowles as a leader I thought the players respected him.
