Jets have played defenses ranked 1st, 2nd, and 5th, so the O, OC, and QB will go against much lower ranked defenses overall in 2021

This seemed so obvious to me.

If Carolina, Denver and NE are ranked 1, 2 and 5 at year end, this would be a more valid point.

Three weeks in, as bad as we've been, we are a materially reason those D's are ranked as high as they are.

Yup 2 of the 3 teams we faced are 3-0 but let's get rid of our new hc, oc, qb, and everyone else even though nobody should have had high expectations for this year, im not sure why fans are suprised we are 0-3

0-3 sucks and its sort of  realistic for a rookie QB,HC, bad roster its just the embarrassment this team is on offense and defense.

Being a lifelong NY Jets fan i'm used to losing just not this ugly.

Last year it was bad and continually said it cant get any worse well guess what it did.

Yeah I am life long jets fan too but that actually gives me hope because first time In a long time I think we are heading in the right direction,  yes we are 0-3  and haven't showed much of anything but on defense,  but everybody is quick to throw Joe Douglas out the window and never want to give people a chance to make any type of progress, if it was so easy 31 other teams would be doing it too

This is a very bad, bad offense.

One that doesn't resemble, and not worthy of, being an NFL offense.  There's so much wrong here that it's hard to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Blaming this on competition is, at best, wishful thinking.

Maybe the NFL could accommodate us with a JV schedule.

Well they screw us every year with scheduling to start out the season when QB Brady and so many others get the hard part later on in the year after they build up how many wins on crap teams to start out. Then they say we got out easy part of our schedule later in the year. Sure helps when you are already 1-6 or 0-5. They know the Panthers game would be hard on to start with the Darnold factor, then they put us up against BB where he always screws up rookie QBs. Oh, then lets send the Jets after that to the mile high stadium. Now, we'll give you a break and provide a nice home game, but against the TEs that have the worst bruising RB in the NFL to go up against. This league is a bunch of clowns and the whole NFL has about the same integrity as the WWF especially the way the refs make their calls.

I heard a stat the other day where in his 1st 3 games Flores the HC of the Fins Offense only scored 16 points in that timespan, just like Jets have only score 20 points. He seems like a pretty good HC after that and even up to now, sop hopefully the same occurs with Saleh.

We need continuity so these guys have to stay till they show over a prolonged period they cannot do their jobs. Remember, we should be happy and it has only been for a short period that we now have the structure through the ranks that we felt was best for the team. The Owners are staying out of the football decisions and letting JD be the GM, and he picked both his own HC that reports directly to him, plus he picked his own QB. He now mainly has to fill the holes in this dam before it breaks through and floods the village. That will be tough but doable. Hopefully Zak gets through this season physically and mentally sound getting maybe a few wins and then JD can sure up the Oline, TE, and any other positions on O or D we need to get the upgrade at starting positions we need and enough depth needed to handle what always seems to be a boat load of injuries we get. He has 10 2022 draft picks 7 in the 1st 4 rounds and top 3 cap space to maybe be a little more aggressive in FA since 2022 is a year he will have to build a better roster it being his 3 full off season with both FA and the draft.

Somewhat would like to hope like Saleh recently said that being a little off in a few areas on every drive makes it put the product out there we are seeing. If they reduce those issues maybe the team can try their best to sustain some drives. Imagine what rank this D would be already ranked 10th if they just had they O sustain like 2-3 drives a game or so where the D is not on the field so much. This could be a top 5 D and then maybe the team would work better between O and D and actually become competitive.

There's a lot of hope in there.

Look, cleaning up the drops, free blitzes and running the wrong routes alone might solve a lot of the problem.  Those are basic fundamentals on football in Pop-Warner and our NFL team can't seem to get that right.

So I guess it's possible they can get that part cleaned up. At that point they might resemble an NFL offense, a bad one for sure - but at least one that feels remotely professional.

And maybe that's enough to build on.

Okay, you sold me!

Carolina and Denver to start the year isnt exactly the 70's Steelers here

20 points, only 2 TDS in 3 games is beyond pathetic even if you were playing the ‘85 Bears for 3 straight games.   Given it’s 2021 and every possibly advantage is given to the offense, it’s even more comical.

I think Denver is going to have a pretty stout ranking at the end of the year.  I am not sure about Carolina, but I know some fans that were raving about their D.

The NFL is not making schedules with the Jets in mind

let alone sabotaging our progress

Was just going to post this.  Carolina has faced two rookie QBs (Zach and Davis Mills) in 3 games.  Same for Denver (Lawrence and Wilson).  NE has faced us, Tua and the Saints.

Through 3 games we have sucked.  It is what it is - no need for excuses. Hopefully it gets better over the next 14.

Now having said that people on here got caught up before the years talking about how the jets were not going to face many really good QBs while forgetting there are two sides of the ball.

The Panthers have played the Jets and the Davis Mills led Texans.  The Broncos have played the Jets, Jags and Giants.

that probably helps 3 games into the season.

Only 1/3 of those rankings since 3 games have been played.

1) The rankings are not linear and they are comparative rather than absolute. For example, the Pats forcing 4 ints and countless sacks while only allowing 2 fgs bumps up their rank more than the other two games bring the rank down relative to the other teams. So the Jets being a special brand of bad is absolutely more responsible for their rankings than just the casual 1/3 you'd like to assign it.

2) Even if we go with 1/3, that's still a large basis.

Jets are basically Viagra for other teams football rankings.

Titans D is my # 1 waiver claim in both of my fantasy money leagues this week.  And they should be the # 1 waiver claim this week by everyone else who plays fantasy football too.

VERY misleading post.  Most teams, IMO, are 80 percent the same. The 20 percent of talent difference, coaching, planning, etc, make the difference.

We would lose to Alabama at this point.

Paint it if you will but we are one of the worst NFL teams in the last 10 years if not more.  Woody is sipping wine and Chris is getting a hummer from a hooker but the Jets are hopeless.

The way the NFL is now those Defenses of the past would be giving up 30 points in most games since there would be like 5 penalties a drive.
