The whole K issue is overblown given he had a K retire right after taking the job. How does it have anything to do with a new GM? He’s had two drafts and he’s clearly not going after big time FAs. Not hard to see what the plan is. The instant gratification approach that hasn’t worked for 19 years isn’t going to be used here now. They’re building a young team and I’d bet they’ll supplement the pucks with FAs later These weren't meant to be bottom of the roster scrubs (except the QBs), they turned out to be bottom of the roster scrubs. Theres a HUGE difference in those two things and you very well already know that. Kalil (Free agent) - Starter - Sucked - Gone Ficken (Free agent) - Starter - Sucked - Gone Hairston (Traded for) - Starter - Sucked - Gone Lewis (Traded for) - Starter - Sucked - Gone Thomas (Traded for) - Starter - Sucked - Gone

No he was a last minute desperation try to find lightning in the bottle with a retired former all pro. Didn’t work, so what. Who cares, was worth a chance. Ficken was fine last season, what are you talking about? And Ficken wasn’t your complaint. It was a last second K signed for one game after Maccs K decided to retire. Stick to a topic Lewis was a back up and maybe spot starter. Which he was. A backup. Thomas wasn’t a bottom of the WR last second pickup who contributed? As I said and you just can’t seem to acknowledge, he’s not signing many big ticket FAs to play on a team that averages 25 years old and needs time. I’ll bet he starts filling in later as they gain experience. So these are your big time moves that you’re complaining about? Khalil, Ficken, Thomas and Lewis? It got Atlanta to a SB that they should have won, SF to a SB, turned Rodgers career along with GB around. Because it hasn’t worked here yet doesn’t erase the fact that wherever it’s gone it’s been successful. Where isn’t it working? I can’t speak for Atlanta and SF, but in 3 games I’ve seen poor scheming with the talent at hand, and I don’t like the heavy use of tight formations with receivers well inside the numbers. I also don’t like running out of 2 TE sets when we have 0 starting NFL tight ends who can block, among other things. Hopefully we see the adjustments soon. This is his 3rd season. There is 0 progress. What star player has he drafted? What great players has he signed? What positional group on this team is better then when he started? Almost this entire roster is players he brought in.

No, I think we’ve seen poor play calling in week 2 and getting overrun by a good defense in week 2. I’m saying this system has proven itself. That doesn’t mean LaFleur has game planning and game calling down pat yet. To say the least.

LOL, don’t worry you’ll get Kevin or some other JD hater to give you thumbs up Clearly you didn't read what I said. Like at all. I think you may want to go back and take a look at not only what I said, but 2019 and how many games each of those men started. Not once was my argument that JD didnt sign "big name" free agents, it's purely that the decisions he DID make and continues to make, havent worked out. Kalil - Active 7/Started 7 Vedvick - Active 1/Started 1 Ficken - Active 15/Started 15 Hairston - Active 11/Started 6 Lewis - Active 15/Started 12 Thomas - Active 11/Started 10 I also didnt just randomly change topics to Ficken, which also shows me you didnt read what I said. I also didnt infer that they were "big time" moves either. Also Ficken only made 19 of 27 FGs... that's definitely not "fine". But they WERE JDs moves, all of them, and they were all terrible moves, this is an irrefutable fact. Your fantasy world that JD came on the team in 2019 and just sat in his office absolved of all the trainwreck is just that, a fantasy. He actively poured gasoline on the inferno. It may be impossible to believe for you, but there is a world where JD could have made different decisions that turned out better, but he didnt, and here we stand.

Khalil was desperation because Macc left him without a decent C so the unrestored pro bowl C was signed. Any argument about Vedvick was signed when Macca K retired right before the start of the season and he brought in a K who was drafted. Big deal. Dickens worked out decently, have no idea how you can try to complain about him, he was serviceable. Thomas is the icing on the cake. Demarius was more than serviceable where we were using him. That’s just moaning when you get to Thomas.

I started a thread earlier this week explaining why I’m done watching them. It’s a lot easier living 700 miles from NY. 57 years with this team, and I can think of maybe 10 that I enjoyed. If they ever put a respectable team together, I’ll pay attention. Until then I’m going to sit home, watch my local team (Panthers) every week. No stress… if the Panthers win, great. If not? What do I care? Then watch the National games… pick a team to root for, and move on to next week. 😉 3 weeks in with this plan, and it’s going great. No agita watching this expansion level mess. I come here, commiserate with all of you, but I’m blissfully detached from the misery. If you were actually detached, you wouldn’t be here. You’re just trying to convince yourself. I'm not really complaining as much as I am tired of the excuses for Joe Douglas. All I keep hearing around here is how he's tried really hard and the terrible results aren't really his fault. Again, he's getting paid almost $20mm to turn around the Jets and after 3 year the results are pitiful at best. Seriously questions: At what point is "A for effort" not enough and results begin to matter? 1

No, you JT, Munch etc think the overhaul should take a season or two and that’s not only next to impossible to do but it’s on you guys. My reminder of the day, Lynch was ready to be lynched in SF along with Shanahan while he built the 49rs before it all happened. And please don’t tell me about the last 10 years.
