Elijah Moore moving forward

Recommended Posts

Where does he fit in?  He hasnt been playing the slot this year and with Crowder and berrios, he probably wont this year.

He has not been particularly effective lining up out wide so far.  Hes not taking snaps away from CD and Cole was pretty effective today.

How do you guys see him fitting in moving forward?

Wilson’s development is more important than Moore’s or anyone else’s so if what we have now works for the kid I say keep it that way. Moore and Mims will have time to come along. Cole and Crowder are likely gone next year and at that point hopefully they’re ready to be full time starters. Moore should be taking most of Berrios snaps away by week 8-10 though.

Wilson n Moore will be a hell of a combo at some point.

I agree.  Moore probably catches the deep ball from Zach and scores rather then fall down like Cole did.  It will be exciting to see his breakout game.  Maybe it comes in London has he will surely be back this week.

He’s more dangerous as a slot where they can move him around and create insane mismatches where he’s covered by a LB or Safety who’ll get toasted on cross routes or up the seam. Line him outside - as they should Mims - if to simply rip the top off the defense covering their blazing speed and open up the underneath routes

I see him competing with Cole for that second outside WR spot.

Which is folley btw.

There's a difference between position flexibility, and where you get your mileage. Right now? It's stubborn to call his home outside.

Watch the footage of how Lane Kiffen schemed certain plays to showcase Moore’s (and led to his RIDICULOUS ‘20 stats at OleMiss) speed and YAC ability and simply COPY & PASTE IT into the playbook of neophyte LeFleur

He lined up outside rarely at Ole Miss

(i actually don't know the numbers on this but the bulk of his "production" was inside work)

And what were those first 3 games like? He needs to get in there on some drives. Thats where he belongs.

I agree with you.  But the coaching staff doesnt.  They want him outside this year so hes going to have to produce there.  Lets hope we see improvement from him in London.  Im sure he is chomping at the bit to get in on all the fun.

They need to figure out a way to work him in. He's too talented for the Jets to simply give up only 4 games into his rookie season

Theoretically he should be more of a weapon by stealth, it’s tough for a rookie to come right in and be expected to tear it up right away as your No1 or No2 option from day one but with Crowder & Cole back and Davis getting more effective he can be eased back into the line-up and feed off the attention defenses will have to give to those guys….this is actually a much better situation for him
