maury77
How would you guys feel about this starting infield next year (assuming Judge re-signs): IKF (3rd) Peraza (SS) Volpe (2nd) Rizzo (1st)? At a minimum, I think its a very strong defensive infield.

Some rumors circulating that the Yankees are looking at adding a top end starting pitcher and I fully support this. Agree, big chance of our starting pitching getting exposed next year if we stay complacent

Should have brought Mattingly on the staff to wake up Boone and create a new sense of urgency.

But health is always a question with DJ and he is taking the cautious approach with his injury. Would be great to get rid of Donaldson and Hicks. I am okay with the kids in the middle of the infield. Curious what they would get for Torres in a trade.

maury77
Welcome home Aaron! Now go sign Rodon and trade for Reynolds (yes, I'm greedy).

chirorob
I'm going on record right now. Terrible deal. You do not give a 30 year old a 9 year deal. You still have Stanton on the books for 5 years, 150 million.

Trae Turner is 29 and just signed an 11-year deal with Philly. 40 seems to be the number these days.

When players were on PEDs, they were good into their late 30s. With those gone, they age normally, meaning they usually peak 28ish, maybe a little later. Some of these contracts are going to make Pujos look like nothing.

JustEndTheSuffering
This contract is terrible. Judge will never have a season close to the one he had last year and his postseason was despicable. He's also 31 with an injury history. This won't end well.

The one defense of the judge contract is once his contract starts to look really bad 5 years from now that is when Stanton mercifully comes off our books
