***Official NFL Sunday/Jets Bye Week Games Thread***

Meh slate of games overall, but some interesting ones if you’re into watching a lot of anti-Jets narratives get blowed up forthwith.

Narrative one: “Brian Flores is a great young coach”

MIA-Jackonsville today in London. Miami is without their two starting CBs and two starting WR’s. Trevor Lawrence has been playing better of late and this looks like a great spot for Urban to get his first win. Fun stat: If Brian Flores has to go 7-4 over the next eleven games simply to tie Adam Gase’s record (23-25) as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins through his first 48 games,

Narrative two: “Miami is building a great, young team”

Chargers at Ravens: The Dolphins famously picked the suckbag Tua Tagliaoavaoaoa over Justin Herbert last year, and Herbert is already in the MVP discussion while Tua has one foot in the grave.

Narrative three: “The Jets were holding Sam Darnold back”

Vikings at Panthers: Panthers will be playing without CMC, and without that security blanket, Darnold has come back to Earth. Even his early success was based more on Darnold running the ball than passing it, and that was never going to be sustainable. The Vikings are second in the league in sacks, so there’s a real shot Darnold has a vintage meltdown game. Bonus stat: Robbie Anderson has 12 catches through five games, with one TD.

Narrative Four: “Jamal Adams is good”

Seahawks at Steelers: No Russell Wilson, no Chris Carson, Geno starting, and the Seahawks are team on the verge of collapse. Roethlisberger has been bad this year, but he started compensating last week by just throwing it deep a lot. The Jamal Adams Seattle defense is the worst in the league, and everyone in football knows that you can complete any pass you want on Jamal Adams. Two weeks in a row Adams with be fricaseed on National TV.

It's amazing just how important Watt is to the Steelers. Very similar to how is was with Palamalu. When they are out, a totally different team.

Is that really the guy you want.  Although he would fit right in with us.

And he just dropped a sure first down.   Yes, I want anyone other than the scrubs we keep putting on the field.  That's why I gush when even a marginal TE catches a ball.   Our guys repel the pigskin.

Both of these young QBs look good. They are getting the ball out quick in the pocket and are making accurate throws.

Exactly. If Wilson gets the ten yards and under passes under control he could be lethal. Tua may be a dink and dunker but he’s very accurate and sustains drives.

Rooting for the Jags (of course) but so far Tua looks like the QB Miami thought they were drafting. Lawrence looks like he’s going to be pretty good, too. Let’s hope we see similar from Zach. We haven’t seen any consistency from him yet.

A lot of Qbs look like the QB teams wish they drafted when playing the Jaguars.

There is a reason the Jags have lost 20 straight.  Bad offense.  Bad defense.  Bad STs.

They could have a 29 game losing streak when they play us later this season.  Anyone willing to hazard a guess as to what would happen if that is the case.

Wilson will set NFL passing records.
