Amazing how quickly we are able to evaluate Tua's entire future and ceiling based on 12 starts but if anyone raises concerns about Zach after 6, they are a reactionary Pollyanna with a instant-gratification complex.

That is a very fair point. Most of us won't admit it though.

There’s been a report like this once a week for like six months now

Not gonna happen. Deshaun is gonna take one look at the Miami Massage Therapy staff picture and nix the deal.   EDIT: The guy in the top left might be into it, though.

The hypocrisy of the league and country for that matter holds no bounds... #Metoo I must say, even still, knowing what I know, that this guy will actually be traded while being accused of be

This is so deadly accurate. It's not even funny.

Not really.

It's pretty much the same people already calling Tua finished as questioning ZW through 5 games.

Neither should be judged, even remotely yet.

I agree. They shoulda nipped this thing in the butt months ago.

But, instead, they're just waiting for the story to blow over and lose vigor. Soon they'll be shoving the "Reformed Watson" narrative down our throats. But I won't swallow.

No, sir.

There really should be a whoa button on this site

This is bad for the Jets.

- Tua is bad, would love for him to stay in Miami

- Watson is a top 5 QB

- really young

- cheap contract once traded

Was really hoping Carolina or the Eagles would be trying to make this trade.

On the plus side ... what will Miami have left draft pick wise to build any sort of team around Watson?

They're not just a QB away from contending, whatever they may think. Watson on a depleted Texans team was 4-12, same will happen in Miami IMHO.

Watson won 4 games last season on a crappy Texans team.

If Miami gives up three first round picks that'll set them back years. Fins will be in the same situation as Watson was in with the Texans. Super expensive QB contract, no high draft picks and going nowhere.

crappy team that traded away a top WR.  had few first round picks.  they should have been better if managed correctly

Miami traded away a top LT.  will have few first round picks left.  they should have been better if managed correctly

Perhaps we are outliers. Agree book still open on both.

Even if it’s inappropriate and nobody wants him to. You can’t stop him, you can only hope to contain him.

It’s amazing isn’t it? Could you imagine if Zach was a Dolphin and having this kind of start to his career?

That's basically my self-check on whether I am being objective: "If this was happening to the Dolphins would I be laughing or crying?"

Jets need to worry about themselves.

If we don't build a talented roster and find our own QB - it doesn't matter anyway.

True,  but we are Jets fans. We can multi-task and look at the situation and say the path to winning the division or making the playoffs gets harder if Watson is in the AFC East.

We can get better, build a talented roster and miss the playoffs if our division is filled with equally talented teams. So yeah, it matters.

Whenever there is a team on the front pages in trade rumors, usually means there is a team that they are trying to bait.  McClain is shilling for the Texans here.  I would assume its Carolina.  Less likely but possibly Philadelphia, since they have the ammo to make this trade.  Although Philly would be a tough sell to the public given the cases against him.  Carolina more forgiving given his Clemson background.

Talk about a PR nightmare in Carolina, he is going to Miami. No one gives a sh*t down here.

There is no way Watson gets traded and doesn't get a new contract and it wont be cheap.

Miami has two good wrs , a good tight end a decent rb.

Give Watson Waddle Parker Giseki and Gaskin and he will work his magic

Just saw that this rumor was started by this guy Mclain, who is a local Houston reporter that I have seen spread Texans talking points in the past. We haven't seen the Fish come out and deny this, which is telling, but this guy always seems to have a pro-Texans agenda.

Exactly. Watson passed  for 4800 yards last year with David Johnson at RB and Cooks/Fuller at WR and Fells at Tight End and a terrible Oline. Tua would have struggled to pass for 3800 with that same roster.

Hopefully it's just a rumor and doesn't actually happen.

Lost in all of this is what an absolute mess the Dolphins are. All of that cap room, all those draft picks, and all of that preseason hype have gone 100% wasted.

This feels like the final gasp for a suffocating franchise. Watson should definitely change the dynamic in Miami, in theory - he’s a great QB. But perhaps he makes it worse and they become a PR nightmare…. It’s not like the rest of Miami’s decisions over the last 3 years have been good ones

I think any team trading for Watson will have some prior knowledge of what (if any) punishment Goodell is going to hand down.

The punishment will be proportional to the negative publicity and public outrage. It’s quiet right now but, if there is ever a trial, it could get very seriously ugly. I don’t think Goodell is currently in a position where he could honestly say what’s gonna happen.

Also, the Texans are voluntarily keeping him inactive. I find it odd that he’s not already on the commissioner’s list, and suspect that might be a handshake deal with the league, the team, and the player - and that if he’s traded he’d have to continue his inactive streak. Watson stepping on the field would certainly ramp up the criticism the league is trying to tamp down.

You would think so, but I think it is also possible the dolphins are willing to forego that opportunity in order to get Watson without a big time bidding war.

What has been hypothesized to me, is that Miami and specifically Stephen Ross, want Watson badly.  With the news the Eagles have green lit a trade for Watson if the opportunity arises coming out they have gotten worried about their standing in the room on the trade front.   So to reduce the risk of the Eagles and other teams jumping into the bidding war (Eagles have the most draft capital to offer) the dolphins may be willing to take the risk on Watsons league judgement in order to get a deal done now where as other teams are more hesitant to give up anything before more clarification has been handed out.

To a point I guess but Tua has also had injury concerns and went to a team that at least appeared to have better coaching, a system that’s installed and a better surrounding roster. I can mention the intangibles people say Zach has and arm talent he seems to have forgotten how to use but that would make me feel kind of silly. I think he may have always had more potential than Tua so may get a longer leash? Don’t really know, but if Zach doesn’t improve at all by end of season I could easily start thinking about moving on.

What am I missing? Why does any GM think Watson will 1) be eligible to play in the NFL ever again; and 2) do anything other than create a total negative media sh*tstorm for a team that allows him to play?

Insanely enough, Watson is technically eligible to play right now.  The NFL has done nothing, it's been strictly a Texans team decision to this point.

I agreed with you completely...

But if feels like where there's smoke there's fire and the dolphins are about to give up real assets to trade for a sexual predator.

So, the question is why do they think he'll play again...and I think the answer is the sheer arrogance of the NFL and its media partners.

Watson will do an interview, apologize for something without accepting guilt - and they'll be a full court press from both the NFL and ESPN to glorify his redemption.

They'll be a couple of weeks of protest and then it'll pass and he'll be anchoring NFL Today in 10 years.

Based on what I have read about the "investigation" the NFL is doing (essentially slut shaming and calling them liars) it is pretty evident the NFL wants to sweep this under the rug and keep a marketing asset. It kind of nauseates me because his behavior is also backed up by several women NOT looking for attention or money or revenge, and maybe I am weird but being a sexual predator is just not OK, you need a second chance material for me.

Also, I won't link here but it took me like 20 seconds of internet search to find at least 20 Houston based sensual masseuses who essentially advertise what they do. He did not want a happy ending he wanted to get over legitimate massage therapists as some sort of conquest.

Fuuuck this guy.

Yes, that's the creepy part.

He can hire all sort of escorts.  They're not hard to find and he has the money to afford the best in the world.

He is a sexual predator, that was looking for easy targets on which to prey.......
