AVT, Moore, Carter I and II all look like keepers.  Echols? Pinnock?  Don't know yet.  Sherwood and Nasrildeen are changing positions at the NFL level...may come along in time, but expecting much this year was a stretch.

Of course the elephant in the room is Wilson.

Honestly, if Wilson can figure it out I'd say this past draft was a huge success and it was the first draft where Douglas had ample opportunity to assemble his own scouting staff.  But it all depends on Wilson starting to put it together somewhat before the end of the season.

Is the book out on Douglas yet?  Nah...I'm of the opinion that Macc set this franchise back at least 5 yrs and had no concept of team building.  Saleh while disappointing so far, is a rookie HC too.

I understand the frustration (hell, I'm 62 y.o. and '69 is a distant memory) but firing the GM (and 'his' picked HC) at this point just perpetuates the problem of the continuing revolving door in the FO.  Douglas will be retained til at least year 5 of his 6 yr deal, and Saleh will get at least 2-3 seasons unless the team he coaches revolts.

Becton has been nothing short of a disaster. Was beaten like a drum all summer and can't stay healthy. Passing on Wirfs looks like it could haunt this franchise for a decade. 

Mann lol. Any punter drafted should be nothing short of elite. Mann has been mediocre at best. 

AVT like with Mann, an interior lineman drafted in the top 15 has to be very good at least. He was known heading into the draft as the safest player on the board - he's been good but considering what we gave up for him that's the least we'd expect. Moore looks a decent pick but half this forum would have drafted Carter, we were incredibly lucky he fell where he did. Hardly put that down to master planning. No mention of the talentless running back he took ahead of Gabriel Davis 12 months before. Heh. 

No mention of his free agents, which have been a disaster. He's been running a god damn charity for long proven 1st round failures. Giving Perriman and Jarrad Davis the money we have is absolutely disgraceful. Two guys who'll be out of the league in two years and the Jets set them up nicely for their lives just because. He actively chose to give out one year rentals and they've done f*ck all. Chose not to push for Jack Conklin, Corey Linsley, Joe Thuney etc. Elite players that were available and we didn't so much as make an offer for them. Better not to spend on good players because Mac tried that, apparently. Better to go bargain basement shopping on trash like Greg Van Roten. 

People still act like it's early and still blame Mac. Mac's team is gone. Douglas has invested a lot and we have the results - It's his roster from top to bottom. We're one of the worst teams in the league. We're blown out more than any team in the league. And people can't wait to give him more resources to spend. It's insanity.

We are so thin at so many position groups and we as a fan base lie to ourselves about it. Just because you “like” Echols doesn’t mean he’s a good corner when you see other starting corners in this league play.

Even if it’s more what they inherited than what they’ve actually executed as a GM/coach combo….the team has no life. Penalty on the opening kick off, 3 and out and then the Bills waltz down the field. This happens like every game now. Hit reset. Start over. Saleh isn’t a HC and Douglas isn’t involved enough to be the guy the Jets needed him to be.

Nearly every game this team comes out so flat on both sides of the ball.  On defense, every single play results in a big gain by the other team.  Teams score in 5-6 plays in the first few drives on the jets.  They’re not even on the field long enough to get tired before they’re down 2 scores.  

Regarding the offense, of course there are multiple problems.  but it stands out each week that the C and RG are particularly bad, and a majority of the pressures/qb hits occur from these guys sucking.  The biggest priorities in the offseason are fixing those 2 OL spots and getting pass rushers.  I would hope these spots are actually addressed in the first round.  I can see Hutchinson as an obvious target.

No accountability folks. Just see out your 6 year contract because bad teams don't get better with change. They get better by sticking with the guy who put together the bad team. Jets fans logic.
