The Jets are one of the best PR marketing franchises there is. Davis shows so many tells when he is speaking with the press he knows exactly where this franchise is and he has to tow the company line. The man can barley keep his head up. Also, another poster posted this on another forum: The effort was disgusting. I don't want to hear anything about rebuilds or young coaching staff or anything of the like. The team looks simply uninterested in playing. I could remember incorrectly, but it looked like this time they opted for 21 personnel with Wesco as the second back for two runs that netted about 3 yards before the third down sack. I personally feel like they need to run at least a 3 WR set because the defense is completely comfortable with selling out against the run. The TE and FB are nonexistent receiving threats with our personnel grouping and it just makes the defense’s job way too easy to play against since our O-line gets blown up on expected runs. That aside, to not even attempt a play action to counter the defensive tendencies is just mind blowing. So is our absolute refusal to use play action on 3rd and short and 4th And short scenarios. The shanahan system is built around building tendencies and running counter to those tendencies with personnel playing different roles interchangably. We are not doing that.
