Besides Lou Holtz... Have the Jets Ever Gone "Winning College HC" Route?

Recommended Posts

I can't remember any others...

Maybe they should explore this option again if this continues to be a complete and utter embarassment...

It seems as though this "Hire the Hot Coordinator" method is not working...

Why not hire a proven winner with some experience on actually running a team?

I can't think of any time the Jets have done that.  I'd take the Northwestern coach (that we were interested in last year) if he's available.

Yeah, because its all on Saleh and a different college HC would be lighting it up.

Because look at all those proven college HCs winning big time in the NFL

We interviewed kliff kingsbury. But hired Adam gaze instead. What a horrible decision lol.

I'd take a Lincoln Riley any day over a Robert saleh.

Of course you would, until he also went 1-5 with this roster at which point you'd be calling for his head like all those calling for Salehs head tonight

I bet our offense would look somewhat competent under Riley. It has been a complete sh*t show under saleh/lafleur.

Losing 54-13 coming off a bye week is a big red flag.

Based on what?  Its all on Saleh and thats that?

Yeah, how would you know?

Id bet you thought the offense would be somewhat competent under LaFluer in the summer

Its more than a coach causing problems though blaming one guy is easy

I don't know anything. But I thought Kingsbury would be a good coach in this league. And I think Riley would be as well. He has an innovative offense. Something the jets have never had. I'd rather give that guy a shot over a 1 year wonder defensive coordinator.

I didn't want saleh/ lafleur.  Or wilson tbh. But i am willing to take a wait and see approach with both. But the early returns have been non existent.

Lafleur looks lost. Maybe it is all the roster construction like your implying. But I feel like a different offense coordinator could get more out of this group of players.

It's JD. He is incompetent when it comes to GM position.

Should've hired Rhule or Kingsbury.

@Jet Nut is right guys. This isn't just on Saleh. Douglas, Zach and LaFluer can't be given a pass. Everything is awful, not just Saleh.

Pretty much yeah, its a lot of different things and blaming it all on one person is too simplistic
