It's not opinion.  You'll be hard pressed to find many 8-8 teams in NFL history who were outscored by nearly 100 points on the season.  That's a strong signal that a team isn't very good.

Thus, it was no surprise the team went 5-11 the following season with basically the same roster and coaching.

People need to stop propping up the 2013 Jets.  That team sucked.  Anyone who actually remembers watching them play knows they sucked.  Geno had his moments that year but he ultimately was one of the lowest rated QB's in the league that season.  Just like he was the following year.

The jets were destroyed in all their losses that year, they won 2 games on the last play when the other team handed them the game.  If thee was ever a case of you are not what your record says you are it was that year.  The net results was the jets giving rex two more years of dismal efforts.

Yep.  Many of their wins that season was strange.  Especially Week 1 against the Bucs when they won on a roughing the passer out of bounds call that put them in FG range in the waning seconds.

The Bengals, Giants, and Patriots, among others, completely exposed that team in dreadful blowouts.

So you’d prefer 1-16 with Zach Wilson over 8-8 with Geno?

Your argument was that Geno, in his 9th season in the league, is better than Zach Wilson.  Now you keep moving the goalposts.  Who gives a sh*t that Geno Smith may have been better as a rookie?  He sucks and has always sucked.  Zach Wilson at least has a shot to not suck.

And I'm absolutely NOT a Zach Wilson homer.  I was against drafting him.

And yet Geno > Fields and Wilson

To be fair he's had a few more snaps at the pro level than those two. Not familiar with the Bears but I think Seattle has a better coaching staff and at least somewhat better offensive system and better personnel than the Jets. Other than that yeah, sure.

We didn't play the Giants and the Pats did not blow us out that year. That team somehow played NE well that year and actually beat them at home in OT (the game with the controversial personal foul on Nick Folk's miss that led to him making the shorter kick) - I was at this game.

But yes, that team was not good. The Bengals, Ravens, and Bills all destroyed us when we were still in the "playoff race."
