Right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is coming off the lowest grade of his career at 59.7, but he’s been a reasonable starter, ranking 37th with a 65.1 grade over the last three years.

Exactly.  He is an FA after this season.  Has not played since 2019.  I am sure he wants a chance to get back on the field and show that he still can play before he hits FA.  No idea if he will be any good for us after the time off, but we gave up a 3rd string TE who has played 13 offensive snaps through 7 games.  Hard to find fault with this move.

It probably also means more time on the active roster for Kenny Yeboah, which may or may not be a good thing, but I would rather see a kid with upside get some reps than Brown.

Either way it's a back up for a back up, not a big deal either way. Most likely scenario is neither player is on the others roster next season.
