Let's bring back Adam Gase, too

Kotite, Gase and Lou Holtz would probably do better.

I think Saleh is a good man and can be a good coach, but he is learning on the fly and he has no back-up.  There are no teachers/vets to be found.  No direction.  It really shows.  They have a few good crew members, but they are lost at sea.

I'm a Saleh fan but there's no doubt he has underperformed thus far.  Like you said, he's learning on the fly a bit with a young team and he's relying on some inexperienced coaches below him.  I think he's a good guy and a good football coach, but let's remember that the Jets put him in this CEO type Head Coach role.  It's different that previous coaches like Gase who was completed focused on the offense and outsourced the D to Gregg Williams.  It's different than Rex Ryan who was 98% focuse on the defense and didn't even know what rooms in the building the offense held its meetings.  This makes Saleh much more reliant on strong coordinators.  Two weeks ago we were clammoring for him to get rid of the inexperienced Mike Lafleur who was calling horrible games....that changed quickly over the past two weeks for whatever reason (different QB, Lafleur moving up to the booth, the players getting used to his system, etc.).  But the D is now underperforming and Ulbrich is on the hotseat (rightfully so).

There are a lot of moving parts with the Jets right now....new coaches, new systems, new QBs, changing lineups, etc. We have to be patient unfortunately.

Welp that was quick.
