Big Fat Rex got blown out a lot his last 4 years...look it up

And I remember ..Rex’s vaunted defense…that he took so much pride in…couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down.

His last 5 or 6 years as head coach…of the Jets/Bills…were total disasters.  And his advertised “ground and pound” offense may have worked well in the 60’s (as it did for the Packers) …but not in the modern era.

The last 4 years of Rex was just as bad as any other period in Jets history...he won with other peoples players and as soon as he had say in player personnel the franchise became a dumpster fire.  The fact that the Rex Ryan era is the best this franchise has had in 25 years is embarrassing.   It's like if the Falcons fans talked about the Dan Quinn era like it was something special.

Nailed.  Well said.

Quinn at least got his team to a Super Bowl. Rex Ryan failed twice to get there.

Laughable.

We never even came close to what we are now under Rex. 3 straight seasons where it's all been over before November.

It is embarrassing that the standards are so low but that's all the more reason to appreciate the last guy who had a team that could f*cking play. The fact that the fanbase treats the guy who gave us the most enjoyable two seasons since the Superbowl is what's embarrassing. Fans like you deserve to watch the garbage served up by the Jets every week when you admonish the coaches who actually done something here.

Absolutely…..when you needed a stop, NADA.  REX is old and antiquated in his schemes and coaches figured him out.   Blitz with solid CB and safety play.  He drafts Kyle Wilson, and a myriad of DL all of whom sucked.   I can’t believe they let him speak on TV.

Nonsense. Bullsh*t selective memory. Clear agenda against Rex.

We got stops when needed plenty of times. You don't go to two title games if you don't. The problem was Rex's defence were so good that they were judged to a different standard. They kept us in games we had no right to be in given our offensive performance so that when eventually they'd give up one f*cking score it would drive our delusional fanbase crazy. Those defence carried those teams and if he'd inherited a better QB than Kellen Clemens they could have won all in front of them.

Wilkerson didn't suck at all. Richardson was like one of two good players drafted in the top 20 in 2013. Everyone busted that year.

Rex had way too much control over the 53 man roster. Mangini/Tannenbaum built a good roster. Rex coached it up well. When Rex started to get involved in personnel decisions the team went downhill.

It also didn't help that we missed with the 6th overall draft pick and the 5th overall draft pick in back to back drafts either, and that part wasn't on Rex.

The Rex years, though often entertaining, were miserable outside of 09 and 10. Even in the good years his teams were undisciplined. God forbid his defense stop a third and long. On top of that I didn’t think an offense could get worse than Sporano. Turns out it can.

The offense the past three weeks has been better than Sporano's offense ever was.

The year he went 8-8 to much fan fare the Jets got hammered badly in pretty well every loss.  On top of it I remember looking at those games and being astounded at how many big plays and big play tds we gave up.

Rex also turned a top 5 Bills defense into garbage in two years.  So yes you an others have a good point about Rex and his boastful mouth.

However, this Saleh defense right now is worse than anything I've seen as a Jet fan.  The players are playing bad and the scheme sucks badly.

How the hell can anyone blame the HC for this D?  It lacks talent thats ready to play or incapable of playing.

Tell us what is lacking in their schemes right now as opposed to the lack of capable talent

FUN FACT: In the 2010 postseason Rex Ryan's Jets gave up less points on the road against Manning and Brady combined than the Jets have given up in 3 of their last 4 games.

Fun Fact". Why would anyone bother comparing the 2010 Jets to the 2021 Jets and think its relevant in any way?
