Douglas vs. Maccagnan

(Corey Sipkin-AP)

Mike Maccagnan drafted four receivers during his tenure as the Jets’ general manager: Devin Smith, Charone Peak, ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen. Elijah Moore has already surpassed their production in just nine games. The 2021 second-rounder has scored all five of his touchdowns in the past five games, while Maccagnan’s four wideouts caught just three combined touchdowns in 88 career games. Smith was the only one to score with the Jets.

Jets X-Factor’s Michael Nania broke the difference down even further after adding Carter to the equation:

And 2 TE's if we are counting as skill positions?  Chris Herndon, Trevon Wesco

And 2 RB's Trenton Cannon and Elijah McGuire

So we are going to judge Douglas based in comparison to one of the worst GMs in history ? Talk about setting the bar low …

Got to start somewhere.

This 2021 draft class has the potential to be a big positive for this franchise (Depending on Wilson, of course). It's just nice to have a few young guys on offense that we are excited about.

Yes. It will only make it THAT much better when JD gets rid of the STANK that Big Macc left on this team. When you're still paying for Trumaine Johnson, Le'Veon Bell, Sam Darnold, Quincy Enunwa, Henry Anderson, and Keleche Osemele, it makes it that much harder to pay free agents.

2022 will be the first Macc stank free year.

Good thing we didn't give up on him in week 4 like some folks here wanted us to .

and this should be a lesson for every one who wants to give up on Wilson after 5 games.

im not saying Wilson will be this good, just that 5 games are too soon to know for sure what he is.

No,  I was the Michael Carter is a jag running back guy.

FWIW No one is anointing Michael Carter as a really  good RB he is however a really good third down receiving back . If we ever decide to get a real RB like the one in Indy then MC gets to play the position he should be playing . Playing MC in the role we were currently doing is going to break him down hence the ankle Injury . Hes just not built to be the focal point of this offense or any offense.
