White and Flacco made their hay by planting their feet in the pocket, waiting it out, and getting pasted in the process. In the few instances where Zach has looked good, it was when he was bailing out and running for his life. If the plan is to get Wilson to be a pocket passer, I don’t see how that works considering his size and skillset. It makes you wonder if the marriage of him and LaFleur is going to last very long at all. Yes, it took a while for plays to develop with White under center waiting for the receivers to get 8 yards deep.

Maybe that happens two years from now when Zack goes the Darnold route and we sign a veteran. Not sure why the idea of signing a mid aged serviceable veteran is so out of style. As long as they can manage games, not make mistakes, and build an a over average defense you can have success in this league. Seems like we are always swinging for the fences with young QBs who don’t work out

You understand why this stat doesn't address the post you are replying to, right? Mike White had a flukey game in which his receivers had a million yards after the catch. Mike White's average depth of target in the Bengal game was 3.7 yards and the Bengals missed 15 tackles that day. None of this is to say that White didn't play very well - he did. The concern is that this type of performance isn't sustainable. https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/news/adjustments-allowed-mike-white-destroy-bengals-defense
Fantasy Island
For Zach's sake I hope Bobby nuts up today and makes it clear to the refs that our QB will not be taking hits like he has previously. Take that zen peaceful attitude and stick it. Protect our future by riding the refs all game!!!!!!!!!!

White could throw it 2 yds and then get another 10 by YAC. the correct answer to the question was how far was the avg pass thrown thru the air. your stat is yard per pass att. the correct stat is completed air yds per completion CAY/COM. Zach has it 7.3 to Whites 4.

Just because Zach can effortlessly throw the ball 60 yards in the air and throw well on the move doesn't mean you design an entire O based on that. Even Jackson who is the best at running with the ball is throwing from the pocket more and that O was designed for his skill set. Ever hear of playing to your players strengths or you believe you take the player and plug into whatever offense we have. Your point is nonsense. I don't care about the end result but I want Wilson to look good. I just don't think he will and he's fresh out of excuses after the C team of QBs looked decent while he was out. Jetluv58
I knew it would take the Mike White people about two seconds to pounce. If anyone but Carter could run, we’d have been in the end zone.

Barry McCockinner
Wilson has a long way to go. Kid makes a lot of bad decisions and waits way too long to pull the trigger on a regular basis.
jetstream23
It’s crazy that Mike White was successful hitting check downs. It’s literally the thing he is best at. But Zach Wilson can’t hit a check down? It’s almost the weirdest thing ever.

Ecuadorian Jet
I was not a Zach fan going in, but I'm not a Zach hater by any means. The team does need more talent, but the game does not seem to slow down for him
