Are we really going into the season without any left-handed starters, or is there another move to come.

DeGrom, Scherzer, Carrasco, Walker and Bassitt.  Unless I am missing someone, all righties.

I hope this means Petterson is healthy? Wonder if their #1 guy was the White Sox lefty who signed with the Giants, and Bassitt was second on list? Now, need bullpen help. Familla signed with Phils yesterday, 1 yr deal.

Good bye Familla thank you addition by subtraction for me

Don't you just know that we are not going to be able to touch him this year.  He may struggle against everybody else, but he will be dominant against us.

Without a doubt...and Baez will hit .450 against us this year, 5 hr's, and 2 KO's. Murphy's law to the fullest.

Ottavino is a good, affordable addition to the pen. The Bassitt trade is going to be big - hes a late bloomer, top 10 in Cy Young voting the last two seasons, he'll settle in as the #3 here and provide a different look to teams who faced deGrom and Scherzer, then have to face him.  Only complaint is other than Peterson, we have no lefty starters, and the top five right now, assuming deGrom, Scherzer, Bassitt, Carrasco and Walker, is all righty.  But thats a nice rotation.

Rumor is that the Mets are going to trade Jeff McNeil.  That seems like a terrible idea to me (especially if the shift is banned, which I think is part of the agreement they just signed).

I like Jeff, but depending on the return, I might trade him.  Id try to move JD and Dom first, obviously, as McNeil has valuable positional flexibility.

Castro on paper has better stats than the guy they traded for. And he obviously has good stuff as Donaldson echoed. But if you watched him pitch you know the team was on edge every appearance he made.

He had amazing action on his pitches..... but like Familia he couldn't control the location and like Familia tensed up in pressure situations.

Oh hey, Mets won on opening day!!!

A couple of laughers for me; Marte was thrown out twice last year 25/27.  Gets thrown on his first attempt as a Met.  Had to chuckle.

6th inning, 2 hits w/ 2 out both for RBI's, that's new!

You can see that this line-up consists of some professional hitters now. Guys that are are not afraid to get deep in a count and work a pitcher.
