Popular Post rox
The Jets aren’t known for displaying excellent fundamentals on the field, but Morgan Moses was recognized for exactly that. Moses has played in 115 games and has made 107 career starts, so it’s not exactly a special occasion when he displays proper form to make a play. At least that is what one would think. But Moses was named a recipient of the NFL Way to Play Award after the Jets beat the Texans in Week 12. New York’s veteran right tackle helped Austin Walter find the end zone on a two-yard run in the second quarter, using “proper run blocking technique by using his hands and driving with his feet to block the opposing defender.” In other words, Moses did what he has been doing every week for the last eight years and was recognized for it. That he didn’t do anything special is the point of the honor. The NFL Way to Play Award “recognizes the best examples of playing technique each week of the NFL regular season and playoffs,” according to the league... - - https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2021/12/03/new-york-jets-morgan-moses-nfl-way-to-play-award/ 13

Popular Post JoJoTownsell1
Moses got hurt early in the game. Looked like he was done for the game. But managed to come back in the game and help lead the team to a win. Becton needs to learn from a guy like Moses. 4 1
Popular Post HawkeyeJet
He’s been very good in the run game. Very good. Not so great in pass protection, but not awful.

varjet
Here are the projected tags for OL for next year. I don't think we are tagging Moses, and I wonder if he would extend voluntarily. OL $16,698,000 $14,997,

GreenFish
He’a just 30 y.o. Curious to see what JD does at tackle. Both Fant and Moses have played well and still have a few good years of good play left.
BigRy56
Continuity is important and the Jets OL has been pretty solid. I think we will get a new RG but the rest of the spots have been good 1

He’ll do well in FA, doubtful he comes back IMO. 2

Draft a center and RG early Then you have a good chance at 7 good OLineman. Then later years you have the luxury to try out late round prospects and keep restocking the OLIne for cheap which is important as the good rookies come off rookie contracts.

In his prime contract year he only got $7MM and became a cap casualty under that contract, no one else wanted to eclipse the Jets’ $3-4MM offer, and the Jets technically didn’t even need him at the time. He’s only starting now because Becton got injured week 1. He was a great signing in hindsight, and is having a fine season, but not incredible. Based on his play I don’t see why anyone thinks he’ll suddenly jump into even near the $10MM/yr range. Never know until it happens, but as things sit right now I’d be pretty surprised to see anyone eclipse his prior contract in FA. If I had to guess within $1MM/yr on his next deal I’d think he’s in the $5-6MM range with 1-1.5 years fully guaranteed. 1

k-met57
I like the idea of Bechton, AVT, DRAFT, DRAFT, Moses, Fant (if they can bring him back on a reasonable contract).

I just think that the Jets should find a way to keep him on the team and try to draft a T mid-draft who hopefully can step into a starting role down the road, like the Bills did with Spencer Brown. But I can't say that trying to get by next year with something less than Becton, Moses and Fant (or the equivalent) at T is a good idea. When you add AVT, McGovern and the realization that there is not anyone reasonably priced on the roster next year that can be counted on to start at RG (its not Clark, its not GVR, its not Feeney), I would think this puts the Jets OL at one of the NFL's most expensive. Given that the QB is still relatively cheap, it is probably worth it.
