Trubisky is a different story, but in the case of Minshew vs. Darnold, that comes back to a great many NFL teams being some of the most stubborn, thick-headed decision-makers out there. Those who were convinced Darnold was the guy when he came out were then telling themselves they were going to magically fix him. While all those who thought nothing of Minshew will refuse to concede otherwise unless absolutely forced to.
