Lith
About time for Hodges. Not sure what took 50+ years. Way too late for him, but at least his widow is still alive to see him honored. 1

Jetsfan80
Excellent choices all around! But yes, far too late for several of them.
section314
Thrilled for all, especially for Gil and Tony Olivia. People forget what a truly great hitter he was. In the gloom overhanging this miserable lockout, this was a huge ray of sunshine.?⚾️ 1
Scott Dierking
Well earned and there are some great choices there. Hope Dick Allen gets in soon, also. So happy for Gil's family. This man left this earth way too early, and there is no telling what the Mets could have been if he had been around longer in the 70's. Even with Joan Payson and M Donald Grant there.

Even with Joan Payson and M Donald Grant there. I'll never forget the night when Gil passed. It was a Sunday, and my parents and I were watching the usual TV programs from that time. probably either Wild Kingdom or Disney(am I aging myself here?) and the news scroll went across the bottom of the screen saying that " NY Mets Manager Gil Hodges has died from a heart attack." It was one of those moments that you never forget where you were. So glas Gill is finally forever where he belongs, with so many of the Boys of Summer.
