Jets path to #1 overall pick

We're 100% gonna beat Jacksonville and all the top Jets fans will be giddy for a week until we're crushed by an actual NFL team the following Sunday and finish the season with the worst point differential in the league.

The Texans win was a disaster. The Jaguars win will be too. These are the games the Jets show up for.

Agreed, no way we lose to Jax.

1) Jets find a way to lose this game and then lose the last 3 to Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, and Buffalo.

2) Houston hangs on to beat the Jaguars today.

3) Lions hang on to beat the Cardinals today and find a way to win 1 more game before the end of the year.

All of these scenarios are plausible.  Hard not to root for this and Kayvon Thibodeaux

It's hard to root for the Jets in general, and yet we all do it. We all know the Jets are going to win at least another game.

All of the scenarios that could happen today have happened. If the Jets can lose while trying to win, that's probably the best case scenario for the Jets. I don't want them to not try though

IF we got the #1 pick we should trade down.

Trade it

back up Brinks truck for Davante Adams and Aaron Rogers. Tell

Zach he can learn from his fav QqB for 2 years because he needs it. Use accumulation of picks to bolster Oline and defense.

Playoffs here we come

The hilarity of this. The Jets win meaningless games late in the season every god damn year. That's really brought that winning culture lol.

Imagine thinking a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars will be better for the long term prospects of the Jets than a Garrett or Bosa type talent. There's no way even you believe this sh*t.

Getting better players makes you better.

Jets must lose to Jax, no if ands or buts!  I would like to see growth but, the implications of this game is too great that I don't care how they lose!

What we need is wins under Zach Wilson so that the team has confidence that this kid can do what Joe Namath did 50+ years ago.  The number one pick is very seductive but why would you believe that we would get it right.  Even if we picked the consensus top player in the draft by every credible authority, he would probably be a bust, or if he was any good would get injured.  Tired of wishing and hoping that draft picks and free agency acquisitions will be the cure all.  Win games!

I don’t disagree with you. However, you should use the same perspective when you think about the importance of where the Jets pick in the draft.

If late season wins don’t really matter to the Jets then neither does where they Draft, right?

An extra loss or two let them draft Mekhi Becton instead of Tristan Wirfs. It allowed them to take Zach Wilson instead of Justin fields or Mac Jones.

Imagine thinking that where the Jets draft will actually impact their future success. 🤪

I'll just take someone not named Douglas making our picks in the draft, no matter the spot.

You want as many players available as possible. There's a reason these high picks are valuable as they are around the league.

The extra loss allowed us to make that choice and the year we drafted Becton was the year where we won 6 - count them - 6 f*cking game when the season was already dead. Not only did that remove any chance of Gase being one and done - It took Andrew Thomas and Jedrick Wills out of the equation and while neither is playing at Wirfs' level they're both doing very well and doing a hell of a lot more than Becton. But it carries on, it's not just the top of the draft - Instead of Mims we may have had a shot at Pittman or Higgins. If we had won a few more last year we likely lose Moore and Carter.

You want the best options possible and having more options gives you the best chance of getting better players. If the Jets take the wrong players regardless then so be it, but put yourself in the best position to acquire talent.
