So we know the team is bad. We know they were bad last year and the year before that. Everyone has a right to complain and voice their opinions. But at the same time, people have a right to be a fan of this team. They have a right to say what they feel good about.

Some posters are making the site painful right now, turning everything into a "well nothing matters because Zach sucks" site. We don't censor football opinions but let this serve as notice to the few people that are ruining thread after thread after thread. We are going to clean things up and soon so that people can start talking about things again.

If your commentary is taking threads off-topic or just is the same thought over and over again, we don't need to be beaten over the head with it.

Tough season, no doubt. I will be there on Sunday, the day after Christmas. Right now people on the site would say I am an idiot for going. We all have our opinions but the hate that Jets fans are receiving, for rooting for the team is over the top.

There's just as many people if not more having tantrums over legit criticism of the QB and have been having tantrums over legit criticism of the GM since the summer.  From what I see that cultish like behavior seems to be more of a problem.  I think people just wanna sit around and have a circle jerk about how great things are. loll

So what I read is “if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all” is this correct?  if that’s the case then this board would have roughly 3 posts a day. Not my fault Zach wilson is garbage. I’m just pointing it out

Maybe I'm just missing it, which is possible, but I don't see those persistent optimists injecting themselves into discussions about other team areas/players, derailing that discussion as an opportunity to bring up their optimism regarding Wilson.

Or anyway if there's even  an isolated exception post it's just that; it's hardly been the norm like in the other direction.

No jets fan would think your an idiot. The Miami game was fun to watch. I know I'm the minority but Zach will be fine he just needs some help. I for one wish I could go to more games live. I usually just catch the late buffalo game in buffalo cause of family. It was great a couple years ago when we cleared the stadium before the game ended. One of my all time favorite times at a game. My girl was with me and a few other jets fan in the seas of buffalo Mafia.

It was great as they all left ashamed. Love the moments

It’s pretty much accepted across the board, with the exception of a slight few, that he has had a terrible year. Chances of him turning it around not great. And a few other negative points that are probably more right than wrong don’t have to be brought into every discussion.

While I am not typically one to agree with censoring people.  I have definitely been annoyed how every thread is turning in to a ZW debate.  It reminds me of political discussion in how nobody is going to change their mind (outside of Zach's play in future games) or back down and it's shutting down almost every other discussion especially on the offensive side of the ball.

It's certainly a polarizing topic but definitely one worthy of discussion.  Keeping it inside of ZW threads in particular is a good idea because discussing the OL or WR play has always been derailed extremely quickly and it turns in to the same argument we've seen rehashed here over and over the past few weeks. 

I am definitely guilty of keeping the thread going in those debates, and I'll do my best to shut down my reactions to ZW comments made outside of ZW threads.

The only motivation I have on a normal day is for there to be more posts. So all things being equal this would normally be a good thing.

But the team has a 22 year old QB that people are threatening physically. And you can't talk about anything without someone telling you he will never be a good QB.

If people want to root for the team and believe Zach will be good, they are allowed to do that.

Tellingly my father whom I had been taken care of during his ongoing battle with memory loss passed last week and he was the one who made me into a Jets fan. 

His motto was simple, “life will not go your way most of the time and it is up to you to decide to make whatever path you take a path of courage and caring, so stay strong!”

Hence I will never give up on the Jets because my father never gave up on me!

Cant imagine dealing with something like that, so sorry for your loss, CB.  My father blessed me with this curse as well and we talk after every loss, errr, I mean game.     He's up there, so not sure how many years more we have of this but the one thing that amazes me about him is his memory is dude will call out specific downs and distance and time of the game and play call, it's astonishing.

There’s legit criticism, and then there’s the ceaseless banging of your own drum over and over again, day after day, post after post, thread after thread …for the sole objective of shouting loudly to everyone and anyone how right you think you are about something!…anything….everything….

putting your fragile & delicate ego ahead of the Jets or genuine informed debate is tiresome and childish and not surprisingly, p!sses people off.

We are all prone to the odd outburst of frustration, goodness knows we’ve had enough of it with this team, but far too many people exist here to be right about something and take far too much joy and pleasure about it when the team struggles or their oft stated position is affirmed by something because….look at me!

If you don’t get why we don’t all come here to worship at the alter of your misunderstood genius, your under appreciated brilliance, your all-encompassing knowledge of everything then fair enough, but maybe all of us could do with a wider appreciation of those around us, a greater sense of self-awareness….as human beings we are programmed to want and react to affirmation, a thumbs up or an agreement with your view is what makes us tick. It’s ok to have someone think we are right about something. But when that tips over into a board-spamming obsession because you’re worried we didn’t all hear you the first time then….yawn

for balance, the principle applies across the board and just as much to those who see only relentless sunshine as it does to those who love to live in misery.

When every completed pass is a sign we are destined for the Super Bowl and woe betide you for not seeing the greatness is just as frustrating.  Some of us just want to be informed, enlightened and to laugh and we realise that we come here to be educated as much as to add to the debate and collective wisdom

it’s entirely possible to see very little, or even nothing, to be positive about with this team yet still contribute something of value to the debate and the wider knowledge, but negativity alone is not the issue, in the same way as positivity, or choosing to see the glass half full rather than half empty shouldn’t be considered a crime of stupidity or blind faith.

It’s this simple. It’s referred to as spamming, and it’s the top item for me to click on when applying the ban hammer. There are different topics posted on the board. Not every one of them needs the usual suspects tangentially interjecting, “Zach Wilson is the worst QB in the league,” or, “JD can’t draft,” etc. I’m sure there’s a thread for those thoughts at any given time; probably a half dozen of them. Place your repetitive thoughts in those.
