No surprise there.

seems like Becton, Mims, and Perrine are miscast misfits for this CS’s offensive schemes. I take it more as an indictment of the COVID 2020 Scouting/combine/draft process (or lack thereof) than a blemish on JD. ‘21 draft looks good (better scouting/evaluation/interview process?) and Jets are primed for a legendary off-season (our REAL football Xmas, lol)

LT Mekhi Becton (knee) is done for the year, "barring a miracle," per Robert Saleh. What happened? He was supposed to return in 6-8 weeks after Week 2 surgery/clean-up. Saleh: "He's a very big man. Everyone heals a little bit differently… It didn't go the way everyone expected." Saleh admitted they under-estimated his return date, insisting "there was no bad surgery, no bad rehab process, no ill intent on his part." He said it's a big offseason for Becton.

This is on Becton not the CS, no matter how much people wish it wasn’t

Becton played pretty well for Adam Gase and packed it in when Saleh got here. Same with Mims. Good luck to Bobby Salads if he thinks he can make a living coaching 53 Braxton Berrioses.

He’s a goner. When a coach/GM doesn’t expressly commit to a player’s status with conviction, that guy is most likely on his way out, barring exorbitant cap-hit if traded/cut; JD’s lack of commitment regarding Sam last January 2021 compared to declaring Sam “untouchable” prior to the beginning of the 2019 season.

Becton and Mims will be shipped out by May’22 at the latest. Just my 2¢

Becton struggles with both injuries and motivation, not great for someone with a massive frame.

Mims has a bad attitude.

Perine is simply a below average NFL athlete.

So what kind of Men are these guys that they would let there career go by the wayside cause they don’t like a certain coach. You don’t really believe that. They’d be Biting their nose to spite their face

Ahhh yes. Adam Gase - master motivator.

Becton not being able to get back in shape in time to return this season seems like more of a personal problem than anything else.

Terrible pick. Sets the franchise back. Joe Douglas ****ed up and the guy he passed on is likely to be a perennial pro-bowler and we're left trying to figure out where Big Raincheck *might* do best for three games next year.

Hopefully he learned from it and picks a better left tackle this year. I'd be surprised if Becton comes back at all.

Some players are self-starters, some players need to be pushed. Inevitably, there will be a portion of your roster that needs to get coached up. It does not appear that there is anyone on the coaching staff capable of doing the coaching up. The team is mush.
